Small rooms and disappointing staff

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: The area is ok and has a Metro station closed by.
Cons: Some of the staff at bar and at Cafe and check out. Also the room service.
Location: The location is ok.
We stayed for 10 days and when we check in they said that since it was for more than 8 days we were upgraded to VIP. VIP ment a class bottle of water for the first night. Bottles of water were complimentary for the guest at the hotel so could not understand why that was a VIP upgrade. One morning came down to the DuPont Cafe for breakfast and wanted to whatch the finals of Wimbeldon tennis tournament that was on on the next dinning area, where other guest were sitting drinking coffee, and the waiter Martin said that that area was closed until 11am and we could not sit there and order breakfast. It was 10:45am and he followed us out and closed the door in our faces. One day decided to order room service by living the breakfast card outside the door the night before and asked for the breakfast to be delivered at 8am. The next morning we received a call at 6am! To ask us what kind of bread we wanted. When we got our breakfast at 8am the breakfast was cold and the order was made incorrectly. Then when doing our check out at 5am, since we needed to be at the airport at 6am, our bill was not printed and the front desk could not find us in their system. When they finally found us we had a bunch of incorrect charges to our room from the minibar. It took us half an hour to do the check out and got late to the airport. The area is OK and has a Metro station closed by but would not stay there again.

Close to Metro

Posted Jul 14, 2014
The hotel was exactly as described - very well appointed and close to many attractions. The Metro Rail is a short walk across DuPont Circle - 5 minute walk at the most. There are so many restaurants within walking distance you'll have a tough time choosing just one. Lots of cute little shops too. Perfect location.

Enjoyed by all

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: The bathroom, the comfy beds and the great service. Also the area felt safe and easy walking distance to everything.
Cons: Less air con in halls
Location: Didn't take long to walk to the mall area. There is a starbucks and CVS nearby. There was a bakery called Happy Cupcake which had gluten free cupcakes
This was a great hotel, great service - staff did all they could help and were all very friendly. They rang up restaurants to see if they had gluten free options which was lovely. The room was lovely and very comfortable - also the bathroom was great - underfloor heating and very modern. The only thing was that the corridors were like an ice box which was great after being outside in the 90 heat it helped you cool down fast but it was very cold otherwise but this had no real downside. We all enjoyed this hotel the most from the holiday. Would recommend it to everyone.

Location and lounge

Posted Jul 11, 2014
The location is terrific! The lounge was always bustling with young, urban, successful looking patrons. Great vibe! The room layout left a little to be desired- not much bathroom privacy and there was a definite lack of lighting . Room is not equipped w/ coffee nor fridge , but is provided at no charge. Also note there is no free 'continental breakfast'

If you have kids dont go here

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Reached at 3am. The night guy couldnt even smile at me. Gave me a straight face n said welcome to hotel. Then made a mistake and never gave the extra beds for kids as it was specified when i booked the hotel. No microwave to heat up milk for little kids. Asked $10 for glass of milk. If i were just with my wife i would have stayed but probably not again. The most helpful people were the concierge. And the door man. The lobby people seemed like they were over worked and didnt care if someone is standing. They will finish first what ever they are doing and wont even say i will be right with you or greet. Saw this with other people as well. Dont know abou the morning staff but night staff wasnt that great. Except the doorman.
