Nice hotel

Room smelled of paint and no wifi. Management changed our rooms to enable wifi and offered another room that didn't smell of paint.

Great Location!!

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Location was perfect, lots of restaurants very nearby and in close proximity walking.
Cons: The Showers and all of the water that ends up on the floor. Our room did not have a refrigerator.
Location: The Hotel is in a great location, close to restaurants & Metro, but the hotel itself has a great bar scene, inside and outdoors. Lovely Brunch too.
Great Hotel, Perfect location. Good restaurant and bar scene and the outside area is lovely. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, Nice and comfortable room. Very comfortable bed. I actually want to stay here again for all of the above. However there was one issue with the shower; there is no shower curtain or door to the actual shower (which is fine) there is a door to the bathroom. The shower itself was great they have 4 additional shower heads from the wall as well as an over head. The issue is that it seems to have been constructed wrong so even though we angled the shower heads for the water to stay in the shower the water still ends up on the floor, and I mean LOTS of water, we had to keep asking for extra towels and/or bath mats to mop up the floor. I imagine this would cause a lot of water damage to the building especially being a hotel.

Dupont Circle Hotel in DC

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: There was a Starbucks right around the corner.
Cons: Give the bathroom privacy. And fire the architect who designed the rooms.
My family and I stayed in the Dupont Circle Hotel in Washington DC. The hotel itself is pretty and clean. The staff was very friendly. BUT!!!!!!!! What was unbelievable was the bathroom in the room. We are a family of 4 and had a room with two double beds. The room was very small. The bathroom had no door. The toilet was in with the shower and you had to pass the toilet to get to the shower. Like I stated above, there is no door on the bathroom. The "door" is a frosted "shower" type swinging door with no lock or privacy. You can see the silhouette of the person on the toilet. Did I mention that this frosted swinging door has an almost 1 inch gap all around it? So, you could actually see the person on the toilet doing his or her business. NO PRIVACY! I would not recommend this hotel to any person and my family and I will never return.

Weekend Getaway

Posted Jul 21, 2014
The hotel is convenient and has a nice atmosphere (lobby, bar, etc...). The rooms are a little small, but still comfortable. The bathrooms were modern but open. If you need privacy in the bathroom this is NOT the place for you. I need coffee in the morning and the coffee is available in the lobby. When I went down in the morning they were waiting to have the pot refilled so I went across to Starbucks...this is a deal breaker for me. The concierge promised to take care of a few things, which he never did. All in all, good location, good atmosphere, BAD service!

Small rooms and disappointing staff

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: The area is ok and has a Metro station closed by.
Cons: Some of the staff at bar and at Cafe and check out. Also the room service.
Location: The location is ok.
We stayed for 10 days and when we check in they said that since it was for more than 8 days we were upgraded to VIP. VIP ment a class bottle of water for the first night. Bottles of water were complimentary for the guest at the hotel so could not understand why that was a VIP upgrade. One morning came down to the DuPont Cafe for breakfast and wanted to whatch the finals of Wimbeldon tennis tournament that was on on the next dinning area, where other guest were sitting drinking coffee, and the waiter Martin said that that area was closed until 11am and we could not sit there and order breakfast. It was 10:45am and he followed us out and closed the door in our faces. One day decided to order room service by living the breakfast card outside the door the night before and asked for the breakfast to be delivered at 8am. The next morning we received a call at 6am! To ask us what kind of bread we wanted. When we got our breakfast at 8am the breakfast was cold and the order was made incorrectly. Then when doing our check out at 5am, since we needed to be at the airport at 6am, our bill was not printed and the front desk could not find us in their system. When they finally found us we had a bunch of incorrect charges to our room from the minibar. It took us half an hour to do the check out and got late to the airport. The area is OK and has a Metro station closed by but would not stay there again.

Close to Metro

Posted Jul 14, 2014
The hotel was exactly as described - very well appointed and close to many attractions. The Metro Rail is a short walk across DuPont Circle - 5 minute walk at the most. There are so many restaurants within walking distance you'll have a tough time choosing just one. Lots of cute little shops too. Perfect location.

Pros: The bathroom, the comfy beds and the great service. Also the area felt safe and easy walking distance to everything.
Cons: Less air con in halls
Location: Didn't take long to walk to the mall area. There is a starbucks and CVS nearby. There was a bakery called Happy Cupcake which had gluten free cupcakes
This was a great hotel, great service - staff did all they could help and were all very friendly. They rang up restaurants to see if they had gluten free options which was lovely. The room was lovely and very comfortable - also the bathroom was great - underfloor heating and very modern. The only thing was that the corridors were like an ice box which was great after being outside in the 90 heat it helped you cool down fast but it was very cold otherwise but this had no real downside. We all enjoyed this hotel the most from the holiday. Would recommend it to everyone.
