No issues with room, staff or location. Quick check-in and check-out. Clean room, courteous staff. Short walk to the Dupont Metro station. Would highly recommend.

Ok hotel but patchy service

Posted Feb 11, 2015
Room service closes at 10:45pm. There is no food or bar outlet open in the afternoon. No minibar. No lounge. No sitting area in the lobby. You are either in the room or nothing. Quite disappointing stay.

Good weekend getaway hotel in DC

Posted Feb 9, 2015
Living in Baltimore its nice to slip down to DC for a weekend of activities. Prices tend to be easily affordable on the weekends. Consistent with most visits I find using the hotel valet to be the most convenient way to store my car, this hotel bills $48 for that service. The hotel and staff presentation was clean and professional. I would recommend that the door man assist ladies when exiting vehicles after opening the door for them (knit pick). I purchased a queen (or king, cant recall...) deluxe room, the room was a bit smaller than I thought it would be. I found it a bit more confined than most NYC accommodations I have had. Cabs were readily available when heading out on the town, the door man assisted with procurement. The front desk was able to provide the number for a pizza place that was open after 2pm... big plus in my book. Would stay again if the price was sub $130 for the night.

Fairfax on embassy row stay

Posted Feb 6, 2015
The business centre was very expensive and the printer didn't work. The use of the wi fi was expensive. The staff were argumentative. The service was terrible in the bar and restaurant.

Luxury Hotel with great service.

Posted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: My overall expectations were met and surpassed.
Cons: The location is near Dupont Circle but a block or two of the main street. At night it was a little difficult to locate.
Location: Safe neighborhood near the metro. Lots of local galleries and small restaurants. You can get confused with the traffic circle exits.
When you first arrive, the doorman greets you and helps with your bags. The lobby entrance and foyer is understated elegance. Very simply put, charming. The service is impeccable; they really pay attention to every detail. There is a feeling that the hotel is entertaining royalty and you are a part of the family. The room was very spacious and clean. It was reminiscent of an older Victorian style room with detailed crown molding and nice draperies but bumped up a notch to the 21st century. Room service was great! The food was delicious, including the delectable cheese cake. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If you want to a cozy and refined getaway experience I recommend the Fairfax at Embassy Row.

Very comfortable, well-appointed and quiet.

Posted Jan 22, 2015
Pros: Large room and very quiet
Cons: I requested more coffee creamer but the housecleaner left only the minimal amount.
Location: Taxi driver had a hard time finding the hotel but it is convenient to Dupont Circle.
I had a very comfortable stay in this lovely hotel. It offered a large room, very quiet, well stocked. The check in and out was quick and efficient. I didn't eat in the restaurant but had only coffee that was good but expensive. Location is great.

Great hotel

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: The hotel has that old fashioned welcoming feel too it, yet updated in all of the right places.
Cons: The windows should be replaced, it is a bit drafty in the winter. But the good thing is that the heat works well.
Location: Right near DuPont Circle, The Phillips Collection, a great small museum. Nothing is far away
I have stayed at the Fairfax hotel twice in the last month, both times were great. This is a warm and comfortable place to call home for a stay in Washington. The location is convenient to just about everything. The staff are welcoming each time you return to the hotel. I love the feeling that the hotel has been here for a very long time, yet it is updated with all of the modern conveniences. The bathroom is a good size, the toiletries a cut above. The bed linens and the bed are very comfortable and the rooms have a cozy feel, a great place to relax at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. There is a on derail museum across the street, the Phillips Collection. I highly recommend a stop there.
