“Nice in DC”
This is the best hotel that I have stayed in for quite a while. The room was big, bright, clean and comfy as was the entire hotel. We had a desk and 3 chairs, which was nice. Staff was courteous. Location is great, just over the bridge from Georgetown. A little bit of a walk to the mall but we are walkers so that did not bother us.
“A very good choice. Strongly recommend it.”
Great!
“Pleasant surprise staying at the Fairmont in DC”
Very happy with our stay at the Fairmont. Location is between Dupont Circle and Georgetown shopping district, maybe 4 blocks either direction, which was perfect for our sightseeing. Valet offered to store our mountain bikes in a storage room near the front entrance, which is VERY convenient. Manager Keith offered the best in-person service I've ever experieced at any hotel. Outside courtyard is lighted and beautiful. Room exceeded our expectations- bed / pillows / mattress just perfect. The bathroom was fantastic, honestly maybe the nicest shower I've ever experienced, and I've stayed at Ritz-Carlton's and numerous resorts coast to coast. The inside lobby-lounge area was very relaxing in the evening, live piano music was a classy touch. The first day we spent $45 for valet parking, but day two was Sat and we were able to park very nearby on the street for free. Elevators are quiet and quick to arrive. On a scale of 1-5, with 5 being best, I would rate our stay 4.8 Couple small minor things, almost too trivial to mention. One would be a faint but still noticeable smell occasionally near the front lobby of chlorine, and we went downstairs to view the indoor pool, but it smelled so strongly of chlorine I left within 30 seconds. Men's locker room was impressive, but why do so many hotel's use that much chlorine in the pool water ?? And is there not a way to vent the air better ? Overall, a great stay, we will be looking forward to our next stay there !!! Dave PA
“will be back”
everything was great. very relaxing right in the heart of where we wanted to be
“classic wonderful hotel”
Wonderful experience. A little farther out from the mall where we normally stay, but well worth it. Easy walk from Foggy Bottom Metro, Lovely hotel and neighborhood. Will stay there again.
“Away From The Crowd & Close to Everything!”
First time in DC and I found out that it’s not BIG! This hotel’s location is just right. I walked to the Lincoln Memorial and Georgetown. My room was very good, marble bathroom; walked out to a small balcony, but the bed, no the pillows were the best. The restaurant is 5 stars! Try their Maryland crab dishes.
“Great visit”
I stayed at the hotel for a night to attend a family event in Georgetown. There was a mixup as to the type of room requested, which led to an unwanted upgrade. This was swiftly rectified by the staff who sent a bellman and new keys in at most 2 minutes. The room was clean, and comfortable. The gym was shockingly large and well equipped. The decor of the hotel was tasteful and elegant, and I feel the value was also excellent. Thumbs up.
“Excellent”
We stayed the weekend for our wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time. The concierges and staff were warm, friendly, accommodating, and discrete. I highly recommend the Gold floor rooms, as the amenities and service were great. The staff sent us strawberries and champagne, a card, among many thoughtful gestures. The best thing was how stessfree and easy things were. We loved it, and look forward to returning next year.
“Nice...but kind of pricey.”
The hotel was very nice very clean...rooms were basic...bathroom was basic expected a little bit bigger room and bathroom. Hotel on the pricey side for a 4 diamond.
“Impressed”
We are pleased to stay in Fairmont, DC. The room is big and quiet. Hotel location is very convenient. We also extend our check out time form 1pm to 3pm. We will come back in the future.
