Within walking distance to the Metro and sitesPosted May 23, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Less expensive room rates
The Hotel George has a great design, is comfortable, quiet, and secure. The Metro (Union Station) is 1.5 blocks away which is the more efficient and economical way to travel. Wonderful restaurants were within walking distance - I would highly recommend Clyde's in Chinatown. Our stay here was a relaxing experience!

Great hotel but watch the "resort fee"Posted May 13, 2015
Cons: The resort fee is ridiculous for a business hotel. I guess there's a gym which I was too busy to use.
Location: Steps from Union Station (skip the cab line!)
Clean, mid-sized rooms, still with mini-bars and coffee setup. Great location. But there's a $15 resort fee I missed before I made my reservation (this was one of the unpublished rates, so I didn't see all the details until it was booked.) They also charged me for parking, plus tax, though I had no car (but removed it when I complained.)

Hotel it self is great. The only down fall is the restaurant is very limited in the type of food it serves and expensive. Not a lot of other restaurants close by, other than Union station which are all chain or fast food.

Great stay on Capitol HillPosted May 5, 2015
We have stayed at the George several times over years. The location is outstanding: two blocks from the Capital and 100 yards from Union Station. The rooms are good. The Staff are great and the restaurant is the best French Bistro I have been to in the US.

Simple luxury with stylePosted Apr 19, 2015
Perfect location within walking distance of union station red line metro and Capitol. Clean. Internet alittle slow at times. Loved the high pressure and spacious hot water shower

Cozy gem close to union stationPosted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Loved the decor, staff was nice, location is good, the room was nicely appointed, wine reception in lobby every day, happy they had umbrellas in room!
Cons: the heater/ac unit very noisy. We turned ours off and I could still hear the ones from the room above or below but I sleep well
We chose The George because of its location, just a few short blocks from Union station near Capitol Hill. We arrived a bit early and planned to just check our bags so we could sight see. The woman at the desk said she would put our room on a priority and as we regrouped in the lobby, checked our email etc, we were surprised to be told our room was ready! I loved how the theme of George Washington was used to decorate this hotel..... kind of funky contemporary. The hotel staff was lovely, there's a little french bistro attached that has a a nice breakfast and bar. Didn't hit it for dinner. My husband liked the gym. Rooms were very clean, comfortable.

Easter Weekend at the GeorgePosted Apr 7, 2015
Amazingly helpful staff that responded to any request with kindness and patience. Lovely room but not much view (it's a city so I wasnt upset, just be aware!) and absolutely immaculate accommodations. Excellent location and complimentary wine to boot!! Wonderful stay!!
