Well located historic hotelPosted Mar 4, 2014
Cons: Exterior areas need an overhaul. TV reception is poor.
A landmark hotel with a good location in Washington DC. The lobby is rather underwhelming but the rooms are comfortable. A renovation of its facilities is overdue.

The Henley could use an overhaulPosted Mar 2, 2014
It was nice to stay in a non-corporate hotel, but The Henley could use some updating. The decor all seemed a bit tired. the paint was peeling in some area of our room. also, we were right next to a construction site where the jack hammers started at 7am. (I know that's not the hotel's fault, but just a heads up to those staying there in the next few months) The staff seemed rather unenthusiastic, but not unfriendly. On the plus side, the one meal we had there, lunch, was quite good.

Good value and friendly staffPosted Feb 27, 2014
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions, including the White House. The hotel restaurant is cozy with an excellent menu. The staff are friendly and first rate. Rooms are somewhat small but comfortable. Not all rooms have an actual desk. Some have a drop leaf side table that can be used as a desk.

20 - 30 minute walk to National MallPosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: It was clean.
Cons: Could have bell boys help with luggage to the room. Could have front desk staff knowledgeable about the area and things to do.
Location: Hamburger restaurant next door and Subway around the corner; although the front desk told me there was no place to eat nearby. Big Bus Tour 10 mn walk
The hotel is clean and comfortable, though noisy due to traffic and construction. It is a ten minute walk to a Big Bus Tour. About a 20 minute walk to the National Mall, and about 30 minutes to either the capitol or the White House. Staff not at all knowledgeable or helpful about giving directions or information about sightseeing or major landmarks; although I found this to be the case with all hotel staff and taxi or shuttle drivers in the DC area. It is a dirty and unfriendly area and some of the taxi drivers are dishonest. As a proud American, I have to say I was not proud of our capitol. First time I have been there and it was a disappointment. The one positive thing is the Smithsonian museums which are spectacular and free. But shame on the people who live and work in the capitol for not representing our country well by keeping the area clean and by not being friendly and helpful to visitors.

Perfect for what I was looking for.Posted Feb 21, 2014
Close to the convention center which was the purpose of my stay. Room was quiet and comfortable. Perfect for one not sure two would be as comfortable as room is on the small side. Staff was extremely helpful. All amenities available

great location, accommodating staffPosted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: comfort, value, service
Location: this hotel is in walking distance to most everything...if you don't want to walk, cabs are easy to waive down and public transport is nearby
this small hotel is in a great location within minutes (walking) of the white house and smithsonian museums. the staff is very accommodating..we arrived quite early in the morning and they made a great effort to get us in our room, rather than have us wait until 4pm. The hotel is clean and comfortable and our room was well priced and quite large. I would say however, if you are looking for fancy or modern furnishings/amenities, you will be disappointed. This place is lovely, but could use a bit of an update in decor. I felt a bit like I was in my granny's apartment. That being said...as far as clean, comfortable, safe, good service, value...this hotel has it in spades. I would choose this over an overpriced 5 star hotel every time. we really enjoyed our stay. Free wifi and valet parking are also a nice touch.

Nice and CozyPosted Feb 6, 2014
Pros: Great pillows!! I bought the same ones for myself after my stay.
Cons: Hotel Restaurant menus in the rooms
I enjoyed the hotel. I bit dated, but in a good way. The heat was a bit erratic and needed adjusting by maintenance several times. Nice place to stay.
