Elegant and comfortablePosted May 18, 2015
The room was quiet despite being across from the elevator and every comfort including umbrellas were provided for guests. We had dinner at the Plume restaurant which was wonderful. The food was delicious and the restaurant itself was beautiful. Pleasant staff made the stay very special. It's expensive, but you get what you pay for!

ExceptionalPosted May 12, 2015
The Jefferson is a wonderful hotel. Check-in was fast and performed at a desk where you were seated, which is common for the finest hotels. The room was a little small but nicely appointed. Having the ice already in a container in the small refrigerator was a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet, so I slept very well. The hotel common areas have a lot of character, and the library is quite nice. The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the complimentary iced tea when I returned from a long walk on a warm afternoon. I highly recommend this hotel.

disappointingPosted Apr 20, 2015
Ok staff crappy hotel the rooms were acceptable but the air conditioning was terrible non-existent until we complained after the first night then the problem was rectified somewhat. the food was excellent but overpriced just like most places in DC ordered breakfast in our room it was delivered and we found that one of the coffee cups was cracked leaking coffee everywhere and thank God there were no shards that went down my wifes throat again the staff offered no consolation except to say we're so sorry Actions speak Louder than words it was a joke. and to add insult to injury when we checked out we found out that they charged us $90 for breakfast that we Had cancelled. we had made reservations for six at the five star restaurant the plume which we cancelled after experiencing the above problems there were more problems but I don't have the time to list them all here. my wife and I are experienced world travelers and Have stayed at the finest hotels but this place will never be visited by us again or by any of our friends.

Great Location, Friendly Staff, Historic BuildingPosted Apr 8, 2015
Pros: Location. Historic, personal feel. Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms.
Location: Right up the street from the White House. Short walk to the Phillips Collection - near Dupont Circle.
Loved this hotel. I dropped my bags off early in the morning and went out to explore. Came back in the afternoon to check in and they'd already started the process so everything went smoothly. Arrived in my room and my bags were already there. The location is great, the hotel has character and is nice and quiet - exactly what I was looking for when choosing the Jefferson over the larger chain hotels. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in DC.

An oasis of elegancePosted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: The historic, but updated, environment
Location: You are at walking distance from Dupont circle, several decent restaurants and coffee shops. The metro station is also around the block
Excellent boutique hotel in central location. Rooms are well pointed and intimate, have great amenities and service is impeccable. The hotel has an outstanding library to relax, a beautiful restaurant to enjoy breakfast and a piano bar for a casual dinner.

Lovely hotelPosted Mar 16, 2015
Cons: I needed help on the use of the room card to access the elevator. It requires the card to stay next to the elevator sensor to activate floor level.
My one night at the Jefferson was outstanding. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I believe I stayed in a standard room with a king bed. My room was extremely clean, comfortable and had many little touches to make my stay welcoming. I also enjoyed a lovely dinner at Plume, the hotel restaurant. I would absolutely recommend this hotel as part of a trip to Washington, D.C.

Luxurious DC hotel with just one problem.Posted Mar 12, 2015
Pros: Fitness room was in excellent condition
Cons: Bed firmness or maybe a choice of firm or soft mattress
Location: Less than a mile walk to the White House. Lots of hotels and restaurants within walking distance. Very good location about 30 min from RR airport.
The experience of The Jefferson was wonderful. The check-in was easy and the staff were all excellent and very friendly. I was upgraded and when I walked into my room the mood lighting and soft classical music playing was just what I needed to wind down after a day of traveling. As my head hit the pillow I found I could not get comfortable. The bed and pillow were incredibly soft and plush and that made for a horrible night of sleep for me. I am used to a firm mattress and pillow. That's my only complaint. The fitness center equipment was in excellent condition and the hotel was very clean. Complimentary headphones, fruit, towels in the fitness room. Complimentary coffee and a basket of cut up pastries. I had the Jefferson Musli in my room for breakfast delivered at exactly 6am (6am-6:15 window). Cookies, water, and chocolates were free in the room. A robe and slippers were available for use. Free WiFi. Overall this was a great hotel within walking distance to the White House.

It's a lovely hotel in the business district.Posted Mar 8, 2015
Pros: Staff are very helpful.
Lovely hotel, staff very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Room small but pleasant, clean and well-appointed. The neighbourhood is very quiet - good if you are working nearby, less interesting for leisure travellers.
