Comfortable but stinky and small

Posted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: Awesome location, boutique feel, excellent service and food.
Cons: Wish the rooms didn't have cigarette smell and that bathroom would have been large enough to get ready in. Also, the toiletries smelled gross.
Location: 1 block from the capital - Postal Museum and Union Station only 2 blocks away.
Beds were quite comfortable and decor was cute. Hotel lobby and bar were very shwanky and food was delicious. Staff was excellent! However, the room was stinky... it smelled like cigarette smoke had been covered up. First thing I noticed at check-in. Also, bathroom was so small I got ready at the coffee stand. Also, missed having a small snack/beverage refrigerator.

Comfortable, friendly hotel near the Mall.

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Nice staff and comfortable rooms.
Cons: Rooms could be a bit larger. And two luggage holders would help.
Location: It's easy to walk to the museums on the mall, as well as the Newseum, Building Museum and Portrait Gallery.
We arrived after dark, after a long drive. Got horribly lost in D.C. The concierge couldn't have been nicer, and offered us free internet service as a consolation. I was very happy about that! Also, the hostess in the restaurant in the morning was exceptionally nice and helpful.

Room a haven after hectic meetings day. Best food!

Pros: The extremely comfortable bed, proximity to the Hill (an easy walk to my Hill appointments; no cab required) and "Art," your exceptional restaurant.
Cons: I found the lobby quite dark, somewhat uninviting. After 2 nights parked, my car's battery had died. Staff fixed it, but departure was delayed.
Location: So easy to walk to House, Senate, Capitol, Smithsonians, or a long National Mall walk. Short cab rides to Washington's museums, White House.
As "liaison" is part of my job title, it was serendipity to discover this Expedia pick (based on location) was the Liaison, and next door to the much pricier site of our conference. My room was very clean, private, quiet (in spite of jackhammers nearby - perhaps as I'm "of a certain age" the front desk attendant kindly chose to place me on the far end of the hotel, away from construction). Water pressure was great in the well-appointed shower - with some luxurious amenities like extra-thick towels. The stark black-white-silver-crimson decor was sophisticated, clean, but would not have been personally inviting for me without that big, white, inviting bed with its fine selection of pillows. The restaurant meal was exceptional, way above standard fare, with personable and knowledgeable waitstaff, and worthy of the prices that, however, made it difficult to recommend the next evening to colleagues on per diem limits. I'd save up to eat there again.

Washington DC

Pros: The location was the selling point.
Cons: We were aware of the renovation noises one morning but mostly we were out sightseeing.
The Liaison Hotel was in a great location not far from the National Mall, the Metro and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean and comfortable.

Great location, walkable distance to attractions

Pros: Friendliness of the staff, the citrus water in the foyer, it was quiet, beds were comfortable and was lovely and clean.
Cons: There waz no fridge in the room
Location: Great location for all amenities and restaurants
Thoroughly enjoyable experience saw lots, easy to get around, the Capitol and monument landmarks made finding your way to a venue easy. The free museums and smithsonem were great, and it was not crowded like most big cities are.
