Great traditional hotel!

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Pros: The treatment we received from the entire staff was exceptional. The lobby was so very beautiful.
Cons: We could not really make any improvements.
Location: The areas we were interested in to visit were in walking distant or by cab. The drivers were exceptionally courteous, pointing out areas of interest.
From the time we arrived at curbside, we were treated with exceptional southern hospitality. The entire staff from that time on until the time we left, treated us like we were special guests.

Downtown DC

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Comfortable bed, good sized rooms that were quiet.
This hotel was just what I was looking for in my quick weekend in DC. It is located less than a block from the metro as long as you exit in the right direction. It is in a shopping area and a few short blocks from Dupont Circle and Embassy Row. Depending how much you like to walk, it is an easy walk to a plethora of great restaurants and all the sights and sounds (a mile). If you do not like to walk, the metro makes for easy getaway to the whole metro area. I was not in the room enough to speak to amenities. The restaurant/bar area looked nice. I use my own hot spot for internet from Verizon and reception was great all weekend.

Pros: Location
Location: Close walking distance to many of the places you want to see if sight a tourist.
The room price was right. The cost in the restaurant wasn't. The room was small. No refrigerator. Location for us was great.

Nice hotel close to all attractions

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Locked the lobby, restaurant and location.
Cons: The bed were small and did not enjoy the noise outside our room.
Location: Great location. Close to the White House and Smithsonian.
Love the location of the hotel. Close to the tourist attractions and the social scene. The history of the hotel was fascinating. Rooms on the higher floors facing an inner courtyard had to deal with a constant humming noise...very irritating! The hotel restaurant was very good. Overall would go back but request a different room.

Rooms and barrooms Need serious renovation.

I travel a lot and picked this hotel because it was across from the place I had a meeting. I had heard about the Mayflower and was excited about trying this hotel but will not recommend it after this visit unless they go through a serious renovation.
