Pros: location, history
Cons: cleaning details
Overall good experience but slightly off on a few things for a 5 star hotel

No Breakfast Epiphany

Posted Jun 19, 2015
The St. Regis is a mixe bag. While the building is handsome and the staff is attentive, the location is only so so, and the room price is steep. The room and its' bath are handsomely appointed, but smallish by today's standards. So overall it's a toss up. But if you do stay there, careful at breakfast. With juice practically mandatory at $8 and coffee at $6, a solid first day breakfast with tip was north of $60 for the two of us. That's over reaching in my mind, especially as the breakfast service staff was uncaring and lack lustre about their duties. I consistently needed to signal a waiter re a coffee refill. Over all: a questionable choice, unless you love visiting the White House over and over- with its' lovely park across the street.

Me encanta el edificio, el lobby es precioso desafortunadamente mi cuarto tenia un baño chiquito, la decoracion no favorece el tamaño por q al ser chiquito tenia un candil grande y feo al igual q sus cortinas muy grande el dibujo.

older hotel

Beautiful lobby, but rooms need updating badly. Basic cleanliness was NOT present upon arrival in room. I would have expected more from a two star hotel. Bathrooms were in good condition but again weren't clean.

Classic Hotel

A wonderful, classic Hotel only a couple of blocks from the White House. A perfect location to start from to see the city. Great lobby and rooms. Nice little exercise room and a very friendly, attentive staff. I don't see how you can find a better hotel in Washington!

Sitting on Laurels.

Unfortunately the hotel does not live up to its name and tradition. There is a great need to update or bring the polish and cleanliness back to the promise of its elegance. Very disappointed after a four nights stay. Would not return nor recommend.

Lobby was nice. Room had one light out, DVD was not connected to TV (no cable to connect), piece of trim around entertainment center was not painted and missing caulking.
