The staff is phenomenal. Super helpful, pleasant and the check in was quick and easy. I am giving the property only 2 stars because of 2 reasons: 1) When I made the reservations, I called to see if anything special could be done inside the suite for my mom’s birthday and the concierge assured me that the hotel could leave a note and a treat of some sort. When we arrived, there was no such acknowledgement of my mom’s birthday to make her feel welcomed in her suite. The staff quickly corrected the situation but the solution felt subpar as I’ve been guests at other hotels and have experienced better welcome gifts. But since the staff was given limited notice, I guess they did their best. 2) The hotel rooms are showing some signs of wear and tear and cleaning isn’t all that great. In particular, every single light switch and switch plate had dirt marks. This indicates to me that each room gets a quick once over but doesn’t really get cleaned. Because of this, I went through and personally cleaned every light switch and door knob and high touch surface with the Lysol wipes I brought with me. I know these items might seem minor to some people. But for a 5 star hotel and the high price paid per room, I’m holding the hotel to a higher standard. Overall, the hotel is beautiful. The staff is great. And the location is very convenient.

I expected more from this hotel. First off, the wi fi was terrible, I never experienced this awful connection. At the check out I was told “oh yeah we had some problems, we are sorry”. I am also sorry I paid you close to $1000 for 2 nights and couldn’t even watch a Netflix movie. Then, they wanted to charge me to my room for the breakfast I paid for the day before with my card. Disgusting service and they delayed my check out. The staff was never friendly, nobody smiled in the hallways and nobody said hello. I will not be staying again. Never experienced this with a cheaper Hilton.

It’s in a FANTASTIC location. All the great monument are walking distant. Very safe to walk around in the day and night. Luxurious hotel and room. Giving it a 4 star just because things such as food and beverages in the hotel were quite pricy. But hotel and room were very clean. The staff were amazing. Honestly the best customer service I have received in any hotel. Overall was a great experience but not for the budget friendly type.

My family and I visited this hotel for a few days over winter break, and our experience was absolutely magical. Upon checking in, my 10 year old was greeted and asked if she liked to read. From there, she was escorted into an executive office and issued her very own library card for within the hotel. She was ecstatic. The history alone within this establishment is remarkable. They have a “history hallway” that describes the hotel’s existence and all the famous patrons that have travelled through- very informative and interesting. The holiday decorations were stunning and not in short supply. A very regal, classic look, indoors & outdoors, that radiated holiday cheer. We explored the hotel on several occasions admiring the art and detailed furnishings. The entire staff was exceptional. The concierge was extremely helpful with everything we needed; even bringing a microwave and mini refrigerator to our room upon request (our room had a fully stocked mini fridge, but because we were staying for a few days, we needed refrigerator space to store food). We were told that our room (#1200) had the best view in the entire hotel and it definitely surpassed all expectations. We had a clear view of the National Mall, the monuments, and even the White House. Definitely an unforgettable experience.
