High Quality in WellingtonPosted Aug 14, 2013
Pros: spacious rooms
Cons: wished it was closer to courtney place bars
Amazing quality for the price of hotel on a special deal. Right next to a great coffee place around the corner. Pool & Sauna were an added bonus.

Bolton hotel reviewPosted Aug 13, 2013
Cons: Wi-fi, t.v. reception, look out or room over construction site
Location: Close to city near parliment building, about a 20 minute walk to Cuba st
We stayed in the classic suite with a kingsize bed. Hotel was clean and obviously well looked after. However the service was average, when we arrived to the hotel we asked for wi-fi and had to ring up and ask multiple times for wi-fi and for our reception for the t.v. to be sorted, not something you should have to deal with in a 5 star hotel. Our room looked over a street where there was a construction site so it was a little noisy. I am being slightly fussy but these things shouldn't happed when you pay alot of money to stay in a 5 star hotel.

Hotel parking is expensive specially went they park your car across the road in public car park, considering weekend prices!

Loved it!Posted Aug 7, 2013
Pros: Comfort and cleanliness
Location: Handy to everything and in walking distance of major attractions.
The staff were lovely, really friendly and accomodated any request. Cleanliness was fantastic. The restaurant was amazing - the food was superb and I highly reccommend the cocktail list! Hand walking distance within everything again. I would definitely return to the Bolton if visiting Wellington again.

Very Disappointed. Basic 4 star NOT a 5 star.Posted Jul 22, 2013
Pros: The service was friendly and efficient
Cons: The standard of the rooms especially bathroom
Location: A manageable walk into the centre
We had a disappointing start to our stay which generally didn't get that much better. The room we were given was generally grubby, it had lots of dirty marks on most of the walls for example. I brought this to the to the attention of the staff who promptly moved us to an identical, cleaner room and gave us a bottle of bubbly. We are a well travelled Family, having stayed in many top Hotels. We found the staff to be friendly and efficient. Whilst the Hotel was comfortable, we had expected more given the 5 star rating. In our opinion we would not have rated it more than a 4 star at the most. We were in a premier twin suite. The description said it would have a bath which it didn't. In fact the bathroom was more of a Motel standard. I had to unblock the shower as it was over flowing and the shower door leaked, a poor design. The toilet roll holder was loose. The sink didn't hold water due to a poor plug seal. The TV reception was terrible with lines running through the screen. There wasn't a safe in the room for our valuables which even basic Hotels and Motels provide. We didn't feel there was anything premier about it. The heated swimming pool was freezing. Unfortunately, due to our disappointment we wouldn't stay a the Bolton Hotel again. I wouldn't recommend booking this Hotel if you expect 5 Star standards.

A fine hotel, but wouldn't call it 5 star...Posted Jul 19, 2013
Pros: Washer and dryer in our room
Cons: Lack of initiative
Location: Location is a bit out of the city, had to take taxis. Couldn't find much info on buses, etc.
We booked a Classic Suite room, rooms was clean and spacious. Heater in room so outdated, hard to use even with instructions provided, did not turn off even when pressing/holding the OFF button numerous times. Ended up waking to a 27 degree room, and shutting it off via the mains power. They need to update this urgently. Service was good, but could do with more initiative, for example, booked a taxi but wasn't told whether it was booked later on, had to double check and no one could find the booking for it (in the end, it was booked). Minor really, but what you would expect for a 5 star hotel. Also, on arrival, one person manning the desk, but a massive queue of people and cars stretching outside the door, not a good look either. As a result, we were not told about the facilities - did not realise they had a pool until the day after when we couldn't go, having read the room booklet only later. Overall, these are not things that would stop me from staying here again, but I would only stay again if I couldn't get something better for the same price.
