“Great stay in brilliant city!”

We stayed for 6 nights at this hotel and were very pleased with it overall! The pool was fantastic and the beds were comfortable. Bathroom was a bit small but clean. Laundry facilities were expensive and internet also expensive

“Great Location”

The Hotel was very easy to find and the staff were very helpful on our arrival. The room was just what we expected and very clean. The location was great, very close to Cuba Street and it was really easy getting to the Ferry Terminal the following day. I would definately rebook for my next visit to Wellington.

“Enjoyable stay!”

Good hotel. Needs a bit of an update, but the rooms were clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Its a bit of a hill to climb at the very top of the street before you turn into the Terrace. Save your legs and turn left into Watson St and enter the hotel on Floor 0 and then take the lift up - much easier!! We loved the fact that we were an easy walk from just about anywhere in Wellington. If you want a taxi to the CBD its only about $10NZ, and there are plenty of taxi's available. The bistro was good for a snack, and has great views over the city.

“relax time”

It was OK. We had a good time. Went to the Gym played in the pool. We really enjoyed out meal and the service they provided

“nice family hotel”

Staff were very welcoming and any requests made of the reception and housekeeping were promptly met. We would happily stay there again as our sons really enjoyed the indoor pool.

“Mercure The Terrace is well worth a visit!”

The service was professional though not entirely congenial. It would have been nice to have a bit more of a smile. The hotel is old but reasonably well maintained with some lovely, very modern refurbishments.. Excellent facilities, including car parking, pool, sauna, gym and lovely restaurant/bar. Excellent location, very close to town but in a residential area. Good bathroom - water temp and pressure was great! The beds were SUPER comfortable - the best part of the stay! Very happy with the price too!! Very keen to return.

“Second time visit”

Second stay in two weeks... and they left a card to say "Welcome back" which was nice! This time, the service was EXCELLENT, however the room #booked for 4 people# only had towels, shampoo, cups etc for two people. The bathroom taps were in very bad condition - not like the new ones in the room we'd had last time, so it was actually a hazard to turn on the shower #either got scalded or frozen#. We made use of the gym/sauna/pool which were EXCELLENT. All in all, a good visit and we will be happy to go back for a third stay.

“Nice stay”

Facilities are a bit old but okay, quiet, nice walk distance to city center.

“Average”

We were staying in the older part of the hotel which is very outdated. We could hear the guests in the room next door and running water etc, but it was not too loud for us. We both ended up with some bites - fleas? Possibly because we got the woollen blankets down from the wardrobe. Very clean otherwise, and serviced regularly. Staff booked shuttles/taxis for us. All of the staff were helpful, but some were not as people-orientated as others. The foyer is welcoming, but the front entrance outside is in need of a facelift. First impressions count! The location is about a 10 minute walk from the main shopping street. We found this to be fine and walked everywhere around the CBD. Definitely an average hotel, we stayed here because it was within our price range. I wouldn't stay here again but it was adequate. Could definitely be worse!

“tidy”

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Double bed was on the small size. Room quite small but ok for a short stay.
