The room was mostly modern with a. Good tv, lots of Sky channels, nice bathroom, staff were friendly and nice. The room itself was dark and didn't have a nice feeling, it was very small, with a view of the carpark ramp. It was situated on a lower level than the reception with three other rooms on the same level as the meeting rooms and and office, the rest of the rooms were two levels up from the level we were on. It felt like we were in the basement. The level itself was not secure and anyone could walk off the street and take the lift without swipe card. The room was next to the carpark entrance. The room had no additional security on the door, other than the swipe card access. No deadlock. No bolt. The air-conditioning was very noisy and constantly switched on and off. I could hear noises from upstairs, from the waste pipes, from the neighbour rooms. Overall very disappointed for a hotel that claims 5 star views of Wellington. The staff did not ask about our stay when we checked out. Would not stay here again.

Upon reviewing it appears you booked our Superior room and they are located on lower floors then other room types. I absolutely loved my stay! I can't believe the free chocolate buffet! But also the breakfast buffet was outstanding, and the service was excellent. And complimentary free cookies and tea at check in! I upgraded to a room with a city view and it was an amazing room with super king bed and wonderful bathroom and other facilities. I also used the pool and the gym which were both great. Would stay again!

The most amazing service and comfort!
We stayed two nights in a Family Suite and loved every single second! Even before our arrival I was impressed by the amazing service - we were attending an event so checking in late (right on our toddlers bed time) so I called ahead and Katie on reception had made sure the portacot was already made up in our room and all the comforts we needed were organised and even gifted our toddler the cutest Kea soft toy. Checkin and car valet were seamless and quick. Our Family Suite was modern, spacious and comfortable - individual climate control in each room, comfortable bedding, blackout curtains, windows that opened slightly on safety locks. We couldn’t have been happier with our room. The room service menu is vast and restaurant quality, quick to order via QR code or phone call. Highlights of the facilities for us included the indoor pool, Kids Retreat Room, daily free chocolate hour, the food and the amazing service and staff. This hotel is located in a very quick area of the city fringe, we didn’t hear any noise from outside and found it very easy to commute from. Can’t wait to come back and stay again thank you Movenpick Wellington. We have also previously stayed at the Auckland Movenpick Hotel and the service and quality is just superb, well done to your staff. Thank you again ~ Candice M & Family

Great choice if staying with family with young kid
Excellent hotel for family. Kids get to play in the kids room, as well as the heated pool. Pleasant service and everything is good. But if you’re walking to the hotel from main shopping area, such as Cuba Street, expect a bit of a challenge when walking up the hill, in particular carrying a suitcase.

The room was beautiful and we loved having access to a sauna. Unfortunately, the drain for the shower was right under our feet, so it was a bit precarious. Also, the bathroom door was a opaque glass sliding barn door... not great for pooping with anyone else in the room to hear. Lastly, the parking in Wellington is very difficult to find, so we paid $30/day for valet parking. Unless you plan on eating at the hotel restaurant or getting picked up and driven to eat, be prepared to walk up and down a steep hill where the hotel is at.

The room was not cleaned. Dirty towels were left. The doors do not fit properly or do not open the entire way. The location is near nothing and getting around Wellington is difficult. They charge $30.00 a day for parking. The Shower is up a step so you step out with wet feet onto a tile floor. The restaurant quality is poor. Even the staff emit that the food is tasteless-they told me to season the food myself -they give you salt and pepper. The banquet hall is on the same level as the rooms. So the sounds and the smells permeate the room. The laundry dryer did not work and they had no idea when they would fix it. I can not understand why this Hotel is so highly rated.

It was nice that had happy hour for chocolate. The restaurant had nice food. The kids play area room was good. The pool wasn't that warm, thats why I had booked it. The location wasnt that close to some things.

Great accommodation! Rooms and bathroom are smaller than expected but everything was well maintained. Staff were amazing! Room service closed earlier than other hotels. Had to Uber my dinner a few 4/5 nights.
