Wifi buy - bye, bye

Posted Sep 12, 2014
What hotel still charge >$20 to allow you to check your emails. The concession was 15 mins free in the lobby - however a repeat episode is impossible for a further 24 hrs. Thus single night guests can't check emails in the morning of departure. Next Expedia bookings will be in hotels that offer true customer service.

Dear Angus, Thank you for sharing your comments. We are currently in the process of introducing complimentary WIFI for our guests and hope to have this in place soon. I assure you, most hotels in centre city do charge for internet, however, I completely understand that complimentary WIFI is a must. Thank you again for your feedback.

Nice hotel in Central Wellington, great value

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Top floor, good views, good sized room.
Cons: More sky channels
Location: Shopping, boutique beer establishments, restaurants
We usually stay in this hotel when we come to Wellington for a city break. Good value for money and centrally located. We like it because it is close to the quay and some of the boutique beer establishments! Our deal included free unlimited internet - not all hotels offer this yet!

Neat & tidy, nice & central.

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Staff were friendly. Price was economical. Rooms were neat & tidy. Hotel was walking distance to everything in central Wellington.
Cons: Free newspaper delivery. More tea's & coffee's in the room. A Sky TV channel that plays movies. Free newspaper to the room in the morning. Mini bar.
Location: Very short walk (3 mins) to TSB Arena & water front. 5 mins walk to Te Papa Museum. Great cafe's very near by. 10 mins walk to Cuba Street.
The rooms are neat & tidy. A little smaller than I would have liked, but comfy bed & everything you expect. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Tea, coffee & milk supplies were a bit lean, but they are happy to replace as needed. The breakfast was very good, as we got a breakfast included option. I recommend getting the chef to cook fresh fried eggs for you (rather than the scrambled that is pre-done), but the poached eggs available are also great. No movie channel on the TV (except pay per view). However, over all a pleasant & enjoyable stay.

Great, really great

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: Staff were really great.
Cons: Free parking would be great considering its location
Location: Great central location. Close to everything one would need.
The staff - all of them from Reception, to Dining, they were all super helpful, and genuinely nice. Offering recommendations on things to do out in the city that night, brushing over the fact that I left my key in the room. They made the stay all that more pleasing.

Convenient location

Posted Aug 27, 2014
My husband and I stayed in this hotel for two nights. The hotel is very handy to the city centre and very near to the Cable Car which leads you to the botanical garden and Zealandia (a great sanctuary for nature lovers). Less than 5 minutes walk away, you will spoil yourself with great restaurants at affordable prices by the wharf. The room itself is minimalist. Basic toiletries are provided, along with hairdryer, iron, ironing board, minibar and microwave. Unfortunately, no free wifi. The walls are a bit thin though as you can hear people walking along the corridor. It can be tricky to find the location of the hotel from the city for the first time as it the entrance of the hotel is within an alley. Once you find the hotel though, you will have no problem finding it again.

Great location but amenities need work.

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Amenities in the room - see comment above.
Location: Lots of shops, cafes and bars - very handy.
Great location but along with that goes noise from the city centre. The room was lacking a few things. No air conditioning so I had the one window open but that became noisy. No fan in the bathroom. 2 free sky sports channels but you had to pay for a movie. The TV channels did not have graphics to say what was on tele or coming up on tele. No TV guide. There should be a folder in the rooms with information about what to see and do, menus from local restaurants, etc. You could go to the reception and get that information but you don't want to go there every time you want information. The room was clean and comfortable though.

Central location close to everything

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: All of the above.
Location: Slap bang in the middle of Wellington, easy to walk to most places.
We enjoyed our stay at the Travelodge because it was centrally situated which meant we did not need a car. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room was very clean, the shower was hot and powerful and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and of a good standard. We couldn't fault the place.

Great location - near to everything I wanted

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: For a city centre hotel it was amazingly quiet - had a great nights sleep. Very warm and comfortable.
Cons: Maybe more sky channels free in the room & free wi-fi
Location: Great location to see everything. I wish the weather had been better to explore more - you can't do much about that though!
I was travelling alone & found this hotel to be all I needed for a quick stop over. It was near to all the tourist attractions plus just 5 mins walk to the train station the next morning.
