The rooms were perfect. Stocked with everything you could need and breakfast items replenished daily. Spotlessly clean and everything worked great. Close to Wells, Cheddar and all other local attractions. Top notch.

Ebborways Farm was exactly what we were looking for. It's situated in a great part of England, with the Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and other must see locations nearby, and it's village, Priddy, is quintessential English countryside.
The farm itself is spacious enough, but I also liked that the main house only catered to a few rooms, which helps maintain its very quiet ambience. It's the complete opposite of a hotel chain.
The staff were wonderful, the breakfast is what you would expect, the price was very reasonable. Everything was right. Sometimes you can select a place that looks just right, but you didn't realise it was next to an airfield, or a factory, or a pelican farm (been there, Florida), or it was run-down, or the service was terrible, or whatever else it is that's going to ruin the experience.
Not so, here. It was just right.

Crapnell farm is a very friendly and a lovely place to stay. It's a personal, 'human' experience: the owners are friendly and helpful, but no one was there when we arrived so we couldn't check in for an hour upon arrival, they once forgot the mushrooms for breakfast, and forgot our tea tray on one of the nights. This is what you get with a more human experience: I'm not saying it's bad, but it's worth knowing.
I would suggest this is not the place for younger couples; we could hear other guests and the owners quite clearly, which suggests they could hear us quite clearly also. This felt slightly restrictive. It is also some walking distance (two miles to the nearest pub) from anything, which is good or bad depending on what you're after.
The room is nice, it's extremely quiet around the area which I thought was great. It's easy enough to find, and the nearest pub (the George in Croscombe) is a cracker.
In conclusion, it's about what you're after. It's a good little place and I would recommend it - just not to my friends, who are younger and might fancy a bit more in the way of privacy.

A great place to stay but being killed by a Wetherspoons that the local council has allowed to open over the road. This place is streets ahead of Wetherspoons for comfort and friendly atmosphere but people go where it's cheaper.
