3 star hotel in a 5 star facility

Posted Mar 30, 2015
The room we had faced a wall with no view of anything other than a grey wall, less than a metre from the window. The aircon didn't work, we couldn't open a window and there was no fan in the bath room so it was like staying in a sauna. We were going to go for a swim in the pool but it has clearly not been cleaned in a while so we passed on that. The resturant was ok, food was average certainly not 5 star as it would have you believe and it was so expensive so be warned for main, desert and a bottle of wine $230 and breakfast was more overpriced than any hotel I have ever stayed at $72 for two for a very small breakfast buffet which we ended up having a bowl of cereal as no al a cart option. They had a small room service menu but note although it says it has 24 hour room service this only applies if you want a bowl of fries or wedges you can find this out while reading the fine print. On the positive side the gardens are amazing and on a nice day it was devine and a tour through the old mansion is lovely. Please don't go their thinking you would be saying in the lovely old mansion which has been converted into a hotel as it has a very large modern extension which has been made to look old with a best western hotel style fit out. I feel my experience was not in line with the expections of this hotel because it claims to be more than it is, for $360 a night we were very disappointed.

A relaxing weekend away. The hotel was well presented and staff were relaxed but very professional. We'll definitely come back again.

This hotel is unique in style !

Style and the benefit of a great location as part of the Werribee Park Mansion give this hotel a unique atmosphere. Driving into the park next to beutifully keep gardens is certainly a feel good momemt. Reception is friendly by us somewhat off hand as they were dealing with the first flood of weekend wedding guests. 7 weddings later we were truly over tuille and loud late nite music. The rooms are small and the bed is only a double. But tv is even smaller impossible to watch tennis!. These are premium prices and to be asked to pay for in room coffee is rather excessive. Breakfast is above average but coffee ordering system results in slow service and even slower coffee.

Couple enjoying a child free stay

Hotel staff were very polite & helpful from the moment we arrived till we departed. The hotel opened 12 years ago & while still lovely some minor maintenance needs to be done to keep it lovely. Had a buffet breakfast which was enjoyable but potato wedges for breakfast was just a little weird, hash browns would be a welcome addition. Would highly recommend!
