Good town centre location.

Posted May 19, 2014
Cons: Breakfast should be included in cost of room, or if extra,, 10euros maximum, not 20 currently being charged.
Location: Menin gate, Cloth Hall, within 5mins walk, plenty of shops and restaurants also, Tyne Cot cemetery and other front line memorials short drive away.
We'll located, easy walking distance all main tourist attractions. Very helpful English speaking staff, modern, clean and comfortable. Nearby free car parking available assuming you can find a gap, we used hotels secure underground parking at 12euros per 24 hours. Only gripe I would have is that if you require breakfast, cost is 20euros per person per day, way too much!! So, we bought croissants etc, from local bakers just over the road. Plenty of restaurants around for lunch and or dinner. Would use this hotel again.

close to key things in Ypres

Posted May 18, 2014
Our room was not ready when we checked in but we were offered complementary drinks and our room was upgraded, so we were not too put out at the delay. A big plus was having tea and coffee making facilities - none of the other Belgian hotels on our trip had this so it was a nice touch and much appreciated in the morning. Breakfast was expensive so we popped into the bakery across the road for pastries and coffee which saved a lot of money. I would stay here again if I came back.

Very Comfortable Hotel in Central Location

Posted May 11, 2014
Pros: It's very convenient location and comfortable, clean room.
Cons: The shower was a bit of a challenge to operate.
Location: Less than five minutes walk from the Menin Gate where the nightly remembrance ceremony is held at 8 p.m.
The hotel was very pleasant and clean. It is in a fabulous location, very close to the Menin Gate, the ramparts, the main square and the Cloth Hall (site of the In Flanders Fields Museum). The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all, a great place.

Pleasant hotel, good location in centre of Ypres

Posted May 1, 2014
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Better pricing
Location: Everyone knows about Ypres, and why we visit it.
Pleasant two night stay in an excellent location; however, be aware of the peripheral costs. Breakfast Euros 20, parking Euros 11 per night; these used to be inclusive at a better room rate.

Pros: It is in a central position for visiting so many things and make a good base for visiting the Battlefields.
A good position for visiting the Menin Gate ceremony and also for visiting the Field of Flanders Museum. Close to many eating and drinking places.

Great Hotel and Great Location

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: Everything, location, room and breakfast
Cons: Our room could do with a lick of paint on the walls there was a few marks on them.
Location: Excellent location so convenient as just off the main square and ideal for visiting Meningate literally on the door step.
Went as a family and took the grandparents. The Hotel was lovely and great central location within 2 mins walk of Meningate. The family room was spacious and bed very comfortable. It was also very quiet which was lovely. Breakfast was excellent as well with everything you could want and we did not have to queue. You could use the hotel underground car park for 12 euros a night or a few mins away there was free car parking, we were told this by the reception. Would definitely go back again and highly recommend this hotel.

Great Location - little things not quite there.

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, modern
Cons: service
Location: Menin Gate # 1 place to visit
The main reason to stay at this Hotel is its location around the corner from Menin Gate in a wonderfully reconstructed town. The hotel is modern and rooms ok as they should be at the price. The experience itself has multiple tiny iritations that add up to a miss on customer service. If you sit on the bed the other end shoots up in the air, the shower needed muscles to make shower, nobody asked for credit card details on check in so I couldnt charge to the room, it took three goes to get another glass of wine at the meal, I ordered the buffet but nobody told me where it was, the there was only one lift at the front of the hotel, the one near the room was service only... Once you asked for something or reminded it was ok but lack of proactivity meant the service missed the edge of better hotel experiences.

Location: Great for visiting Western front battlefields and museumsLJ
Enjoyed a 2 night stay while we visited the Western Front Battlefields and menin gate ceremony. Arrived late on first night but were able to have meal in the restaurant. Breakfast buffet was excellent, if a bit pricey @ €20,00 pp.
