Great Hotel and Comfort Too!Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Friendly and polite and helpful Hotel staff. Comfortable Beds, Safe and quiet. Quick access to highway and downtown Memphis. Very family friendly.
Cons: checking shower equipment and electrical in the bathroom.
Location: Quick access to highway, 15 min to Dwntwn Memphis. Near Walmart and Southland Park Casino
We needed a safe, comfortable quiet hotel near a local college. We arrived quite late and the staff was so pleasant and helpful with driving directions to the hotel. The check in was excellent. The hotel staff was friendly and polite. The room itself with a view of the pool was nice. The beds very comfortable and a refrigerator is included in the room. Breakfast was hot, and included fresh fruit, cook to order waffles and sausage. The shower was hot but the mechanism to turn on was hard. Reported to hotel and promised maintenance was assured. Overall would rate this hotel as a 3 star hotel with quick access to highway and downtown Memphis Would definitely stay again.

Close by, comfortable, clean/newPosted Aug 23, 2014
Looking for an affordable hotel in Memphis, we crossed the river and found the Clarion. Recently renovated, the hotel was great. Hot food at the continental bkfst, a warm indoor pool, comfy mattress with a topper and soft pillows. My family slept well and didn't hear a thing -- walls were thick. Easy to get to and, on the weekdays we stayed, not at all crowded. Would definitely stay there again.

Falsely advertises room service and restaurant.Posted Aug 4, 2014
There was a room service menu in the room but when called we were told they don't have that service anymore. How hard is it to remove the literature from the room books? Then when we tried the restaurant there were 3 tables of people eating and we were told we would have to wait at least 20 minutes because they hadn't gotten their food yet. So they obviously are not staffed. What's the point of a large restaurant with lots of tables not in use?

Friendly place to stay.Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: The staff
Cons: This isn't a perfect place, but no major problems.
Location: Gambling around the corner is a draw for those who like it. Central location to the sights of down town Memphis, Tenn.
Hotel staff was friendly, helpful and informative. I stayed two days and the first night the hotel clerk was very helpful in directing me to the casino buffet to eat. I thought that was great because the food was plentiful at a fair price. It seems like all of the staff were very friendly and helpful when I asked them questions such as where was the location of various touring areas.

Will Work In A PinchPosted Jul 14, 2014
The hotel was not terrible. It is older. The pool, although nice, was way too small for the hotel and we were overran by a group, shortening our swim time. Breakfast was good, and the staff were very nice.

Happy it was just one night...Posted Jun 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
Long wait to check in. Room smelled like mildew. Not cleaned well. Restaurant and Bar not open when they where suppposed to be. Cab that was called for us to go down to Beale St. in Memphis turned out to be a gypsy. We would not use them again if there. Their vehicle didn't seem very safe.

Perfect spot halfway on our tripPosted Jun 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
Room was clean and smelled clean. Front desk was staffed with pleasant and cheerful staff on checkin and checkout. We had an issue with our door not wanting to shut properly and were immediately put in a different room with no problems. More importantly, the front desk staffer filled out a maintainence slip immediately so the issue could be correctly promptly. Located right off the interstate, it was a little difficult to get to due to construction, but we never heard any road noise and passed a very quiet night. The free breakfast was quite large and included options for everyone. The inroom coffee was some of the best hotel coffee I've had in a long time- rarely do you get decent coffee in the little inroom coffee makers and this was actually fairly good. The indoor pool was a nice plus, the kids got their traveling itches out and slept well after spending time in the pool. As an added bonus, pool towels are kept at the pool, so there is no need to bring towels from the room or ask at the front desk. All the side doors are locked at all times, requiring a room key to enter, adding a layer of security in a neghborhood that is not upscale, but not scary. There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel, but they are closed on Sundays. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
