Aged and chaoticPosted Jun 26, 2015
Arrived very late 11.39pm to car park very full and like a maze. Night Reception staff worn out and grumpy and processes very slow - wifi not working in lobby "that's very strange" he said implying I was strange! Lift not working.

Avoid the lodge if you stay, hallways smell . No heating because of .... Many reasons apparently I was given 3 different reasons . Some dirty tissues and a kitchen roll under bed .. use your own imagination for that one .. told reception but still there after room was cleaned next day ..

You get what you pay for!Posted Jun 16, 2015
Pros: It was cheap!
Cons: It needs knocking down and rebuilding, it stank of mould!
Location: It was close to my family who live in Crawley and I was visiting for a funeral so it was convenient for that as it's near the crem.
I can see the appeal of this hotel it's affordable and close to gatwick so if you're not bothered about comfort or quality of food and service then it's perfect.

Cheap hotel near GatwickPosted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: The price and location
Cons: Just about everything
Location: Gatwick airport
Things started badly with the potholed parking areas being full to bursting, and I was not late arriving. Walking back from a creative space it was clear the hotel structure had not seen repairs, let alone paint, for a few decades. Wherever possible corners have been cut to save cost - aged carpets, tired paintwork, thin duvet and sheets. The bathroom towel rail fell off, and while I screwed it back (happening to have a tool kit with me) it was clearly bent and broken. The buffet dinner was served on tiny plates. The virtue of this place is the price, and you get what you pay for. Take as positives the polite staff and the place being adequately clean, if far from smart.

Good, cheap hotel.Posted Jun 12, 2015
Pros: Comfortable room, with twin beds. The bathroom had a bath and lots of hot water.
Location: excellent location for Gatwick and the South-East.
On arrival we were upgraded to stay in the main building. The room was on the ground floor, near the bar, but it was nice and quiet. Only one towel in the bathroom, but a stack in the wardrobe. There was also a kettle, but no tea or coffee.

Basic but reasonable cost - noisey (near M23)Posted Jun 6, 2015
Pros: Value Free Parking Location Staff
Cons: Better beds Fabric refurbishment
Location: Crawley - shopping Gatwick Sussex countryside Hawth Theatre
Reasonable comfort - good value for money if you just want a basic stop-and-go room. Limited facilities - no WiFi in The Lodge, limited material. Parking can be difficult & some rooms VERY noisey (close to M23) - but, you get what you pay for in this area & its difficult to get cheaper (with free parking). I stay regularly.
