Room smelt of damp

Hotel is very tired. Room stank of damp. Carpets were grubby throughout the hotel.

Awful decor

Location: Not too far from Gatwick
The hotel is very tired and is in urgent need of an overhaul in its decor in all aspects The room was very clean especially the bed linen. If it hadn't been I would have gone home.

Room service was terrible, never hovered in my all stay, every time asked for room cleaning, asked toiletries or other necessary things, i had bought breakfast coupons and did not had 3 times breakfast and when i was checking out they its not policy to return or any money as restaurant is separate from us but i bought it from reception, breakfast was same all days only 4/5 items.

Most awful experience that i would not like to wish on anyone. The hotel was booked on Expedia. I worked on the day and did not get to the hotel till after 21:00 When I arrived, tired after a long journey, I was told by the reception staff that they had overbooked and that they did not have a room for me. Prior to that, I had been driving round and round in the car park for almost 45 minutes trying to find a place to park. It was like a zoo. There was no place to park. The park area was dirt and unmade so all the cars were dusty. In the end I stuck my car in the bush, dragged my cases to the reception, only to be told i would have to go to another hotel, some 5 or 6 miles away. Had I known this i would have stayed as home. Before leaving I went to the bar to get something to eat. The staff said the cook had gone home. It was not even 10 oclock, but yet nothing to eat. The bar area was packed with people. It was like a siege. I would never want to stay at that hotel even if i was offered a free night stay.

I have stayed at this hotel before because of its location but it just keeps getting older with no money or time being spent on it.

The overall experience was fantastic & we checked in very quickly with no issues. The room was a good size & good value for money.the appearance of the room could do with some improvements with cleanliness & updating!swming pool was very clean & pleasant. Very friendly atmosphere

Very dirty and tatty hotel

Pros: If you are going to Gatwick it is close to the airport
Cons: Needs Cleaning and seriously updating
Location: Beware you can only reach this hotel from one side of the M23, heading north from Brighton there is no exit.
We stayed in a family room with our 2 children. Our first room was very dirty, obviously not cleaned, stained floor, ripped wallpaper, mouldy bathroom. We asked to be moved and was given another room which was cleaner (less mould and less ripped paper) but the TV didnt have an ariel, so we moved for a third time which by this time we were exhausted! This room was ok but very tatty, no lampshades, still mouldy bathroom, all the furniture was battered and worn out. The only saving grace was the bed linen was clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. This hotel is in need of lots of updating and a really good clean, the corridors were dirty and again tatty and the whole place is very run down. It just makes me think if this is the dirt you can see I can only wonder what is going on behind closed doors in the kitchen for example, hasten to say we did not eat here!

Decent value for the money

Pros: Like the shuttle service to the airport and very reasonably priced compared to the taxi I had to get from the airport to the hotel.
Cons: More difficult as it should be to get a shuttle from Gatwick to the hotel. Calling the hotel was not very helpful..
Location: The location was fine for the airport.
Decent hotel but not as close to Gatwick as I had imagined. The staff was friendly and the condition of the rooms was acceptable.
