Close to airportPosted Jun 23, 2014
Cons: New beds and rooms could do with a lick of paint.
Had a room with a double and 2 singles in, the beds were very uncomfortable, lumpy and felt like they had springs sticking in your back, worst night sleep ever. Other members of our group had a different room and there beds were ok

Does what is says on the tin with a bit of a smellPosted Jun 16, 2014
Cons: Staff, restaurant, bathrooms, smell, heating.
Location: There Gatwick Airport is just around the corner.
A very busy hotel. The room I've got was old, the loo was a bit smelly - the only solution that the staff could offer was an air freshener :/ Staff in the restaurant upstairs was almost helpful... Room was cold and I was told that the heating has already been switched off for the rest of the year. I was given an extra blanket as the only solution. Despite all that - the location is good - but do make sure you don't pay in advance. Pay when you leave - just to make sure you get a clean and nice room.

Handy for GatwickPosted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Convenient location; good price
Cons: Decor very old fashioned and generally dated and rather down at heel. Photo on the web site is quite flattering
Only stayed one night which was adequate to form a view

Cold and CallousPosted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: The beer was nice
Cons: Staff attitude, friendliness, warmth, heating controls . . . .
Location: It is actually quite difficult to find as it doesn't have a street number and it is on a long road - best to ring and get directions.
We stayed one night on 27th May, it was a cold, rainy blustery day and it would have been nice to settle in to a nice cosy room but the heaters were not switched off. The room was quite small and sparse and was located in an annexe adjacent to the main building so we had to walk through the wind and rain to get there. We asked at Reception if they could turn the heaters on but they told us that they only do that in Winter and that it was company policy to leave them off at all other times. Despite the fact that it was down to 7C overnight and not much warmer during the day we found that quite strange behavior. I asked if I could talk to the Manager and he appeared, was quite abrupt and just gave us the email address of their Customer Service Department then quickly disappeared again. The general attitude of the staff seemed that they have no interest whatsoever in the comfort of their customers. We would never go back.

Built in the 70's and looks it age.Posted May 18, 2014
Cons: Knock down and start again as it's a great location.
Location: Very handy with bus access to town which opens up avenue to train to London or Gatwick Airport as well as good shopping and eating.
Duped by brochure and internet site because what you see and what you get are two completely different experiences. After taking 4 attempts to find a room to suit our family of 5, no fridge, small & dingy room, small dingy hallways which were very dark. It was a rabbit warren to find pool area and general access areas and what about the limited (Very limited) Wi-Fi

Visit for memorial service in nearby Worth. .Posted May 13, 2014
Cons: Parking. Bar and restaurant Service. Furniture. Lighting. Internet service. Food. Linens.
Location: I was there for a service at St Nicholas of Worth Church built 871 AD, 4th oldest in UK and oldest in continuous use. Fabulous original Saxon arches.
I stayed 4 nights. Must have car here. Bus to Crawley if you have to go but don't go otherwise. Internet service intermittent and restricted range. Not available in room. Booking meals tedious, complicated and too much paper.
