Overnight base for family business

Posted Feb 21, 2015
Pros: Comfortable and friendly.
Cons: Our bathroom was generally fine, but has a rubber bathmat which had black mould on it (so we didn't use it)
Location: Just off the Worthing to Littlehampton Road; near Goring railway station. The sea is a mile or so south, the Downs right next to the hotel.
Highdown Hotel offers good rooms and service in a convenient location on the edge of Worthing and the lovely South Downs.

Dirty

Posted Feb 21, 2015
Pros: The restaurant
Cons: Good cleaners and renewal of furniture
Location: Have to drive round dual carriage way to get into hotel. Need a car to get to anywhere.
The room was not cleaned properly. Furniture was very old. Plenty tea & milk provided. Free wifi

Nice base for conducting important family business

Posted Jan 15, 2015
Pros: It is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location is good, on the edge of Worthing but close to the main road network. Quiet: good parking.
Cons: Although the carvery was perfectly fine, we were a little late booking in and some veg appeared slightly past its best- but it was still tasty.
Location: Close to Worthing, the South Downs and the coast. Good transport by road and rail. Arundel and Chichester are good to visit. Lovely garden at Highdown
Our reason for visiting on this occasion was sad- arranging a family funeral and dealing with the official registration (etc) so it was helpful to have a clean, comfortable and well equipped base for a couple of nights. Very grateful for the courteous welcome and the good service. Free wifi was helpful. The breakfast was very nice both days, and we ate in the carvery once which was notable for good beef and roast pork. We will doubtless return next time we come to Worthing.

Very average

Posted Oct 31, 2014
Cons: Room décor/quality, more staff.
I thought that this hotel might be a little better than it was. Room décor was very outdated and the bathroom was a bit grim. I could connect to the free wifi but there wasn't any internet - what's the point of that? Cooked breakfast was good but you had to serve yourself. No person on reception upon leaving in the morning so had to leave key on the desk and hope for the best!

Good hotel, with big rooms.

Posted Oct 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
- Good quality room, with plenty of space and good condition. - Carvery meal good value and of good quality. - Breakfast included in price and was of good quality. - Not a problem for me, but hotel is located some distance from local amenities, so easier to stay in the hotel for eating in the evening.

Noisy doors!

Posted Oct 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed for a family wedding reception, hotel & staff good but very noisy at night due to doors to other areas of hotel not being fitted with quiet closers, something that needs rectifying quickly. Would have said something to staff in the morning of departure but nobody on duty at reception.

A wonderful location next to Highdown Hill..great for walking our dog . Friendly receptionist upgraded us to the 4poster Mansion suite - very comfortable and roomy. Superb cavery on both nights . Now..real ale - London Pride - excellent ..but please please use a straight beer glass...not a Magnets or Crabbies!!!! A wonderful weekend , great price too , thank you all. "I'll be back!"
