Down at heel.Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: The bed
Cons: Cleanliness and decor
Location: In the middle of an industrial area
The situation of the hotel is unfortunate in that an industrial area has grown up around it. The outside of the hotel was very down at heel. It looked unloved and indeed the staircase leading to the bedrooms was dirty with litter and soil from feet and thick with dust. It had not been cleaned for some time, and the walls were grimy with age and needed painting. The room itself however was clean and the bed very comfortable. I paused at a Britannia Hotel in Leeds on the A64 (Britannia Hotel Leeds Millgreen View, Ring Road, LS14 5QF Leeds which charged £25 and found it very attractive by comparison and very clean in all the public areas (though I cannot say anything about the rooms).

Basic facilities at a basic pricePosted Sep 21, 2014
Cons: It could all do with a bit of a makeover!
Location: Don't know, it was a stopover.
We arrived just before 11, when reception closes, picked up our key and found our room. It is like an American motel, with rooms on two levels off a balcony. Outside the whole place appeared quite run down, with peeling paint and most of the neon sign not lit. Inside the room it was fine though, with simple furnishing and a comfortable bed. Everything worked and was clean. We paid £35 for the night, so a fair price for simple facilities. We didn't eat here so can't comment.

Not suitable for single lady traveller. Isolated.Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: Staff at night, cleanliness, walls cleaned in room, tea making facilities cleaned. Outdoor walkway cleaned from mud.
Location: On industrial estate.
Wouldn't stay there. Isolated and no staff from 11 at night until 7 am.

Rooms were clean, bed was old and lumpy. Food was very good, however the restaurant and bar are together and as the hotel is based in an Industrial area it caters for a lot of workmen and the night I stayed there was a lot of swearing in the bar, being a single female traveling alone I felt that the staff should have said something. I work in a male environment and am used to swearing, but don't feel I should have to list to it when I am trying to relax.

Cheap and EasyPosted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Price, location and bar and restaurant on site.
Cons: Make sure wifi is working.
Location: We visited the Hepworth Gallery and Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Both excellent.
We have stayed before and find it cheap and easy with good facilities however we were disappointed at the lack of wifi this time as it is an important consideration when deciding where to stay.

Campanile - Not GreatPosted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: Good value for money. Decent en-suite bathroom.
Cons: At this price point, probably nothing (you get what you pay for), but I would not recommend it (or stay again) due to the clientele it attracts.
The staff here are good &, to be honest, have to put up with a lot of cr*p from unruly guests. Felt really sorry for the overnight security guard who was called-out to deal with pugnacious charvers: what a thankless task. I get the impression this is a regular occurrence... The rooms themselves are pretty basic, although there's a shortage of power sockets, so if you want to watch TV & charge your phone at the same time - forget it. No air conditioning is hardly a surprise at this price point but was certainly a problem for us in July, with the rooms becoming stiflingly hot. My room also suffered from "snot" on the walls & (would you believe) the ceiling. Don't know how long it had been there but, needless to say, it's not pleasant. That said, the other two rooms in our party did not suffer from this.

overnight accommodation for workPosted Jul 25, 2014
Pros: Fairly close to workplace -although took a while to get there across town
Cons: A little more attention to cleaning
Location: In the middle of an industrial estate! No time to explore
Difficult to find, the room had everything in it that was published but overall seemed a bit tired. Did the job but I wouldn't go back there. Staff very helpful and obliging. I felt it was a little pricey for what it provided.
