A very pleasant and well run establishment.Posted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: The atmosphere of welcome and calmness.
Cons: I didn't find anything that needed improving except one curtain on the wardrobe that was a little torn at the top. Not really a problem, though.
Location: Handy for Huddersfield town centre shopping and the M62. I was there for a conference so didn't see too much.
I picked this hotel because of the reasonable price, not expecting too much, but I was delighted to find a peaceful well run establishment run by the friendly and thoughtful owners. Naturally my single room was small, but the bed was clean and comfortable, tea & coffee making equipment plentiful, and a well fitted shower room with plenty of towels and hot water. There was a tv, if I had wanted it, and enough storage for the contents of my suitcase. The English breakfast was excellent, and there was a good variety of cereals and juice. Continental breakfast was on offer too. I will definitely recommend this well kept period hotel with the public rooms furnished in a style that is in keeping, high quality and all in good condition.

very friendly and welcoming people, no evening meal as it is not a hotel however the local pub supplies good home cooked food at a reasonable price.

Would stay again.Posted Aug 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
The B and B is in a very nice part of town, 10-15 mins walk to city center and 5 mins walk to a nice park. The B and B is welcoming and friendly. The breakfast English cooked/cereal/fuit juice/toast was pleasant. The B and B has plenty of off street parking and a pretty garden. More attention needs to be paid to deep cleaning, although my room was clean, the shower had a lot of scrum in the ridges and needed a small scrubbing brush on it to get into the corners. The B and B has lovely big old fashioned sash windows and so plenty of fresh air, and good light in all the rooms.

Pros: Breakfast - very nice, served by a lovely lady.
Cons: The beds were comfy apart from the squeaky mattresses. I tried both but unfortunately both squeaked, which was a shame.
Location: Very convenient access to the motorway and town. Very little noise.
This is a lovely place in a great location. I was booked into a single room initially but on arrival was given a twin bed room, which was great. I only stayed one night but have already recommended it!

The couple who run the guest house are so helpful and friendly, it's like staying with family, (without being intrusive.) The house is a big old detached stone building with a very large parking area at the side. Situated near to the centre of town, but in a wooded residential area. (It's nice to watch the birds and squirrels from the bedroom window. Great breakfasts The only minor fault is. In room 1 the twin beds both have mattresses one on top of the other which makes it a bit wobbly when near the edge.
