Lovely staff, pleasant rooms, tatty old pool!

Posted Aug 30, 2014
From the moment of my arrival til I checked out, the staff were friendly and helpful. My room was clean and well presented and the bed was nice and firm and comfortable. The pool area was less than wonderful though, the changing rooms and shower area were grubby and poorly lit. The pool itself had an exceptionally strong vinegar like chemical smell so I couldn't stand to stay in it. I actually felt like I was eating the smell of the chemicals and couldn't get rid of this horrid taste at the back of my throat for several hours afterwards. I mentioned it to the staff and they checked the chlorine levels, finding them to be at the top of the acceptable range. They did apologise but it had already spoilt my swim that I'd been so looking forward to (I usually have a 3 year old and a 1 year old in tow so this was to be quite a luxury to actually swim in the pool!!). Oh and I wasn't given a receipt for my room service at the time it was delivered and as I paid cash they couldn't get me a copy when I checked out so I can't claim it back...I wouldn't mind but as I was still tasting the chemicals from the pool I didn't even really enjoy it!!!

Weekend break

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Close to centre for shops and bars
Cons: Reduce the parking cost, brighten the rooms up, if ours was an upgrade, I hate to think what the basic room was like.
Location: Very good
great weekend, room a little tired, shower no good, staff and breakfast excellent.

Pleasant

Posted Aug 12, 2014
It was a very modern, comfortable and elegant for a standard room. It felt like an exquisite room. The food and dinning setting was the best ever. Breakfast brilliant. Very hygienic and loads of nicely laid out food to choose from. Easy access to amenities and great shopping areas. Helpful and professional staff.

Hotel staff were extremely welcoming, polite and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay extra special and all staff were brilliant with children. Would definitely recommend this hotel for families

I'd definitely stay again

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Staff on reception pleasant and helpful, the double suite was large, double bed, sofa bed, chair, massive tv, free bottle of wine and fruit, modern bathroom, with walk in shower and a separate bath, on the 11th floor so no outside noise..upgrade to a suite..treat yourself Two minutes from the train station, but you wouldn't have known it. I was pleasantly surprised with my stay.

Good Hotel, kind staff, Brilliant position

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: The most important thing: the kindness of the staff, helpful and supportive. and smiling!
Cons: Upgrade of bathroom would do... but ok...
Location: The Hotel is walking distance from anywhere you want to go in Leeds, and easy to reach and drive away from.
Enjoyed my short stay, staff was kind and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel is within walking distance of, well, everything. Specifically, I was in town for a concert at the First Direct Arena, 15 min. walk. Access to the gym is a big plus for me and this was easy and free of charge. Rate was excellent. Cons? Car park is very narrow and well, expensive.. London prices. Bathroom could do with a bit of revamp. But clean and working. I would definitely reccomend

Great location, tired hotel

Posted Jun 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel location is good and room was clean. However my room and the hotel is tired. My bed was old and uncomfortable, it would have been poor in a budget hotel. I asked at reception if the mattress could be checked and if possible changed and nothing happened and i had no feedback, so i was forced to conclude that they felt this was satisfactory. As a Hilton Honours member and a regular user of Hiltons and other hotels, it is poor for the cost.

Close to every thing

Posted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: The helpfulness of the staff and the nearness to shops, restaurants and the canal and river.
Cons: Possibly the entrance as the reception is on the third floor.
Location: The location for me was the highlight as I was on public transport and the station was so close yet I could enjoy every other facility.
I loved the fact I could leave the hotel and walk along the Leeds to Liverpool canal. The experience was great.
