It was okay but the rooms at the top of the hotel in the eaves with very tight spaced I am 6 foot three and at the end of the bed it just drop down into a shallow corner the bed was comfortable and the room was clean and the bar staff were friendly and efficient I would recommend it but Book a double room not a single and definitely not the top floor

Five nights in Halifax.Posted Apr 18, 2015 on Hotels
Used this hotel as a base for recent tour of West Yorkshire. Facilities are basic but the rooms are inexpensive so you get what you pay for. Bathrooms don't have shaver sockets and they don't do breakfast, however there are plenty of café bars in the nearby Victorian arcades. If you are an early to bed type it's not for you, as there is a disco most weekends. The bar does real ale which I found to be good quality. The hotel is only a five minute walk from Halifax station which has services to and from London King's Cross.

listing not accuratePosted Apr 13, 2015 on Hotels
its a friendly place, staff very nice though the girl who checked me in didnt really acknowledge the fact it lists a private bathroom ,just said the price i paid was for this room, which didnt have one ,smallest room ive ever stayed in though, and contrarary to what was listed ,no private bathroom,no dvd,the lamp by the bed wasnt long enough to plug into the power socket,no light in the corridor at my end of it so it was pitch black trying to get your key in the door,it was very clean and bed was comfortable but once again i have to say very disappointed not having a shower and toilet in the room.its clean and cheap so ok for one night, toilet and shower in corridor but with no light dangerous to find either in the night

Lovely Staff nice comfy roomPosted Mar 25, 2015 on Hotels
Stayed over to see Paul Weller at the Civic centre. Hotel was very clean and staff were super friendly and very helpful with directions. Room was very basic, as expected for the price, but very clean and had everything you needed for a night away. I will be using it again the next time I stop in Halifax :)

Zero service in hotel. Great in the pub.Posted Feb 21, 2015 on Hotels
It's a room, not a hotel, zero service. My room wasn't cleaned or sheets changed, I was there 8 nights. The pub is excellent though. The staff are very friendly and the beer is well looked after. Basically you get a key for the room, then please yourself. They did come and clean rooms when guests had left.

Clean cheap stopoverPosted Jan 27, 2015 on Hotels
Stop over for a function, have stayed here before so knew what to expect and not too bad for the price I paid, beds even though they are new are still as uncomfortable as ever though, not the best quality mattresses(feel every spring and noise as they 'twang' as you turn over/change position), Decent toppers might help ;-). Great selection of beers in the pub/function room below the bedrooms so don't go to bed early if there's a function on, LOL.

problème de salle de bain - pas d'eau chaude dans l'une, douche inutilisable dans l'autre. pas de petit-déjeuner, dommage pour un Bed&Breakfast

Good quality for little moneyPosted Nov 4, 2014 on Hotels
Really central so could easily walk into town, the room itself was clean and the kitchen had everything one might need. The staff were lovely and really helpful. I really enjoyed my stay!

showers and teacups!!Posted Oct 29, 2014 on Hotels
Enjoyed my stay at the old post office. I was initially worried when i saw the disco equipment being unloaded but i was not disturbed-- i was on the 2 nd floor. It was quiet apart from someone snoring in the next room! The shower was excellant. I found the kitchen and went to make a cup of tea-- only 1 cup- good job i was on my own!!!
