A warm cottage

Posted Jan 21, 2015 on Hotels.com
The cottage is warm and peaceful. It is very touching which Amanda provided homemade cake, bread and jam. It is likely staying at home and every details let me feel the warm hospitality. This historical cottage is highly recommended. However, there is a room to improve for the shower, it is quite hard to adjust the hot water.

If you want to experience something new instead of just living in boring hotel, you should stay at least one night in this cottage.

Thank you Tara for your review and kind comments. We are so please by your comments on our facilities, which we strive to maintain, even though our cottages are up to 160 years old. As you've experienced, Westbury is a lovely, quiet Tasmanian village with outstanding history, parks and walks - a place to relax and unwind. We truly hope you had an opportunity to "recharge the batteries" while you were here. Kind regards, Danny

Charming and different

Gingerbread cottages have rightly won a number of awards. They are genuine 1800s cottages, but with modern conveniences carefully added. The cottages are 'dressed'. almost like a film set, in genuine period items that will have many visitors exclaiming "my Granny had one of those!". Breakfast is a DIY affair, with plentiful food provided and replenished daily, including home made preserves and home baked fresh bread. A must as a base for exploring nearby Launceston (20 klicks away), the lovely Meander Valley, or as a romantic getaway for just the two of you.

Thanks so much Linda for your great review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and we are humbled by your kind comments. We do try so hard to provide everything guests may need to make their cottage a "home away from home" - yet always be there to provide a lovely, relaxed environment in our beautiful historic cottages and gardens. Safe travels and we'd love to welcome you back to The Westbury Gingerbread Cottages when next you travel in Tasmania.
