Perfect experience

Incredible setting, beautiful room, great food and possibly the most friendly and helpful staff I have ever come across. Can't wait to go back. The guy on the front desk even washed my jeans for me!

Would Stay Again

Posted Nov 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
Arrived a little early but this was no problem for the staff. My room was not ready so they moved me to another which turned out to be the honeymooon suite. The service was excellent and the room was very nice. The view from the room was simply stunning. We had an evening meal which was reasonably priced and adequate. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very good. Would stay here again if I was in the area.

A good centre for the Garden Route

Posted Jul 20, 2013
Pros: Very good value for money
Location: Direct access from the N2 main route, but sheltered from it by its garden
Sadly our time at Far Hills did not see the best of weather. It was wet and cold, but it was the South African winter. Our room, however, was comfortable, and the gas heater did its business. The staff were helpful. The only issue was that they seemed to insist on keeping the outside door of the restaurant open throughout the evening, so on the second evening we ate in the bar.

Pros: Environment
Cons: Bathroom
Location: Great location, next to the main road.
They did not charge my account until we did not spend the night there despite we wanted to pre-pay, giving the opportunity to us to cancel at the latest moment.

Far Hills Hotel

Posted Jan 30, 2012 on Hotels.com
This hotel was easy to find just outside George. It was very central to all the sights up and down the coast. The staff were friendly and the beautiful view from the hotel veranda was stunning. The hotel could do with some upgrading and the gardens tidied, but overall, given the price, this was an excellent hotel.

Fawltey Towers?

Posted Jan 23, 2012
We nick-named it Fawltey Towers after a couple of nights. Front entrance very grand, staff laid back and friendly and views are fabulous. Sadly the rooms don't seem to have been decorated since the 80s and we had to change rooms after the Air conditioning started dripping water on the bed (it just didn't work in the second room). Food good and cheap. Amusing but not luxurious
