Nice hotel on the lagoonPosted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Staff friendly, breakfast very good and good outlook onto the lagoon.
Cons: Refurb bathroom.
In our room, the bathroom needed a refurb. Road noise in the morning.

Amenities plusPosted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: The food was excellent. Beautiful garden setting on the water. All the comforts you could want.
Cons: There is no "address" to input in gps. From the east, go through town on the N2 and look for "the Point" on the left side. Turn in.
Location: The Tsitsikamma Forest and area had everything from easy boardwalks to ziplining. Scenery is gorgeous.
We were only there one night but would have stayed a week if we could. We had a steak dinner that was absolutely excellent - prepared exactly as we requested - tender and delicious. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms were beautifully decorated and stocked with everything you could want - plush bathrobes, umbrellas, fresh flowers,

Excellent small hotel by the Knysna lagoonPosted Aug 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
Overall an excellent stay at St. James . Very nicely managed hotel with personalised service and attention to detail in all aspects. Location is perfect with sweeping views of the lagoon and close to other attractions and centrally located. Only flip side being , they have very limited vegetarian options for meals. So one might consider going out if opting for vegetarian meal.

Room with a fabulous view!Posted Jan 28, 2014
Pros: Everything! Setting is impressive and relaxing.
Location: We spent time with relatives nearby and visited the Sedgefield Market, the Waterfront Knysna Quays, and the Plett Game Reserve.
Were assigned this unique room surrounded by a miniature botanical garden, incuding exotic shrubs, a koi pond, a pergola, a greenhouse where room bouquets are prepared, the serene, dark swimming pool, all overlooking the lagoon at Knysna - beautiful! Del was particularly welcoming and attentive.

Great Location, Great HotelPosted Jan 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
Everything about this hotel was great and is the place to stay in Knysna, which is the place to stay on the Garden Route. Couldn't complain about anything, except maybe the guy on the next table at dinner who was complaining that his steak was too well done, and despite them replacing it, still wanted a discount! Thats Yorkshire folk for you.

Excellent location. Nice enviroment.Posted Dec 10, 2013
Pros: The location and atmosphere.
Location: The location requires a car. 5 minitues from the waterfront.
Had a good experience. The only fault is the standard of the washing water color which is brownish and needs treatment.

Amazing stay at a beautiful placePosted Aug 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
I had never paid so little for so much. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Upgraded me to a suite with view and direct access to the lagoon. Beautiful, huge room with lots of amenities. Delicious breakfast. They even washed my car every morning! Overall, a delightful stay. Would definitely stay there again.
