My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. We were blown away by the views from the patio, probably one of the nicest views on the west coast! Will definitely stay here again.

There was only one person manning reception .. We had to carry our own bags to the room . We ordered ice and pool towels. After waitng for more than a hour we eventually went to reception and fetched it ourselves . On Christmas day when we arrived at the hotel after the days outing the Hotel doors were closed . I called the 24 hour emergency number only to be greated by a voice mail telling me to leave a message. Our room had not been cleaned .Our towels were still wet .No water was provided snd no notice given . We had to drive into the town to buy ice and water . The next day house housekeeping cleaned the room . No water ,sweetener, toilet paper and soap was replaced . I had to phone reception and ask them to replace these items . Swimming pool lounge mattresses were non exsistant over the 4 days that we spent there . Manegment should of communicated there intent to close the reception , bar and services on Christmas day . There minimum staff policy was unacceptable. We paid a premium and they accepted our money . I would not have booked in if I was aware of what to expect .
The style of the property is very unique, is very old world Afrikaans. The property is old but there are many niceties. The location isn’t in the middle of town, so it’s a little bit secluded and quieter. The staff are fantastic, and the view is spectacular.

Looks like a good hotel but then the bad bits.
Slow service at breakfast and at dinner. On one occasion getting our order completely wrong.
We upgraded to the garden room but we were disappointed with this room. Rickety blinds at the windows that didn’t function, poor quality linens and insufficient space for our clothes.
Rent the penthouse and you are a huge fool who is willing to put himself and family in danger. Our stay was awful, and I would advise anyone booking this hotel to consider staying far away from the Penthouse. The penthouse is two hundred meters from the major hotel. There is no security system, no cameras, no guard. $15,000 of our valuables were taking during our first night as we were burglarized while we slept. We could not get out of this hotel fast enough.
The hotel management is awful. Not one person came to express their sadness. The hotel would not respond to any requests for a refund and we had to dispute the bill with our credit card company. I am so glad that the burglars did not harm us. It is clear to us that it was an inside job as the “houseman” lives below and some woman who claimed to see the burglars leave suddenly appeared. The person who stole from us had keys but made it look as if they broke in through a window.
This entire area has experienced a rash of burglaries and the hotel knows it because the police and detectives know. The police took ninety minutes to arrive and the detectives came thirty minutes later. If I read that this place burned to the ground, I will have Champaign.
If you value your valuables and safety do not reserve here. We rented the penthouse, yes the penthouse, and on the first night we were burglarized between 2:30 and 6:00 am while we were in the residence sleep. We lost over $15,000 in belongings. We were then told by the police who arrived ninety minutes after alerted, that there have been seven buglaries in the immediate area within the past three weeks. The penthouse is a five minute walk away from the main complex and although there is an employee that sleeps on the premises, there are no outside front lights, no security cameras, no watchman.
We were disappointed that not one person from management came to see us and the only people that cared were the reception people. Interesting, one of the detectives mentioned that there has been a spike in crime over the past several years. On our first night we also enjoyed a three hour power outage.
I guess the folks at The Farmhouse were not alerted as to the crime in the area. We left after one night of a five-night stay and I plan never to visit South Africa again. Between this city and Cape Town I have never felt less safe.
This is a beautiful hotel. The breakfast is excellent and the dinner menu is superb. We stayed in number 21 with a gorgeous view over the bay. The silence is wonderful. The staff is first rate. Make sure to have dinner at Die Strandloper if you are there on a weekend. Also walk along the path to Shark’sBay for a swim.
Lovely staff, great breakfast, rooms were well equipped, nice and secure, and has a lovely old character and feel to it.

A Mid Winter breakaway
We spent 3 nights at the Farmhouse hotel. This is the 2nd time we have gone in winter. The room was warm and cosy. As it was cold ,we tried the coal stove which was actually not effective,it made the room a little smoky.I think it is more ornamental Apart from that everything was great. I had breakfast outside the 1st morning and the views were amazing and the service and food was excellent. As I was doing a race early the following morning,I asked for a packed breakfast which I collected at reception before the race. They went out of their way to provide a variety of things to eat and everything was individually wrapped. I was famished after the race and eagerly tucked into it;it was sufficient to last the whole day. The next morning after heavy rain and hail and a delightful, but freezing run along the Cliff path to the Reserve and back.I was greeted by friendly staff for breakfast saying they had wondered who the mysterious people in our room were as we had not been in for breakfast the previous day. This time we enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant as it was bitterly cold outside. We departed later that morning, but we were well relaxed and our batteries recharged. Farmhouse Hotel,we definitely will be back.
Beautiful old world hotel. Breakfast was a bit slow on the first day but much faster on the second. Great choice of hotel and lovely rooms. Gorgeous views over the lagoon and sunset.
Beautiful old charm hotel. Excellent staff and beautiful rooms. Breakfast was served slowly on the first day but on the ball the second. Great location and outstanding views.
Did not enjoy from the room at all. Looks like the hotel is trying to increase rooms but do not pay attention to the guests privacy. Bad maintenance and housekeeping.
Really enjoyed our two night stay in the hotel. Very friendly and efficient staff, reasonably comfortable room, good swimming facilities, pool table and table tennis. Also a mini gym but we didn’t use it.
Dinner was good and breakfasts were very good, with a wide choice.
Altogether, a very well run and friendly Hotel, in a beautiful place with good views over the lagoon.
Beautiful place and location overlooking the lagoon. Very nice service and very good breakfast! Very recommendable!

Lovely hotel with great individuality.
Excellent stay. Hotel has great individuality, a lovely position with great views over the lagoon and coast, and comfy sofas and chairs to view them from. Excellent staff: very friendly and helpful. Very good dining. Don't stay down on the main strip, surrounded by buildings and roads, stay at The Farmhouse! Room (superior) very comfortable, again with great views.
thank you staff of Farmhouse hotel for a very memorable stay- staff were exceptionally accommodating and friendly--we were well received and I shall definitely go back and recommend the Farmhouse Hotel to fellow travellers. Food was great.
Place would do with air-conditioning though.
Issues started from check-in when our room wasn't available, the new room wasn't ready and there was no wifi access in the allocated room. We booked the hotel for old world charm but our room was a small double room off the side of a larger villa. We decided to leave and not stay the night and head back to the comfort of our place in Cape Town. Staff were friendly but not overly helpful.
Very informal and relaxed holiday type hotel. We were in a separate block a 100 metres up the hill, which was wonderful as we had a swimming pool almost to ourselves.
Dinner was really excellent and very well served, not particularly quickly but with efficiency.
Overall, we will go back next year. We always stay with the same group, Village n Life in Camps Bay and they are equally excellent, as is their Harbour House in Hermanus. A group that we have had good service from for 15years.

i booked to stay at the hotel, but on arrival was told I will be staying at a house up the road. Room was great and a lovely pool. but I didn't have the lagoon view I was looking forward to enjoying with a drink in hand at the hotel patio or bar.. also as I was not told prior - we did not bring anything with. had no drinks or eats so had to drive to get anything. i wanted the hotel experience, else i may just as well have booked at a b & B

Unique characterful very special atmosphere
Had not been to langebaan before, would go again, there is so much to see, the hotel is like a living museum, staff are very friendly, restaurant is transformed at night, excellent wine choice and service, views of the lagoon are wonderful. Music playing in the background was very nice, really enjoyed bar and games area , will definetly come again
All the staff at the Farmhouse hotel is very friendly and they make their guests feel welcome. The reastaurant and bar areas are very cosy, with log fires in each area and the food in the restuarant is very good.

Amazing service
A perfect place for a long weekend getaway. The overall impression I gained was that Hotel Management has instilled a solid understanding of and enthusiasm for customer Service in all their staff, which is as refreshing as their approach to decor. The hotels long history as a genuine farmhouse comes through strongly in the resoration, and newly added areas manage to stay true to the orinal building.
Breakfast was good but lacked any real flair or range but the oxtail i had in the dining room was great.
Overall a comfortable and welcoming hotel

Position and room A1,after that down hill quickly.
One or two staff seemed to care but general attitude was, leave it someone else will do it.When we arrived after a long journey and very tired no hot water for 24 hrs!manager said will discuss some compensation later, still waiting and not now expecting anything to happen as probably bottom line matters!!
Another point to make that I have picture of one of the dinning room windows plastered with bird
droppings, great in the main breakfast dinning area, perhaps it will be cleaned before health and safety arrive having read this.
Senior management Camps Bay take note.
