What an amazing hotel! This was one of the highlights on our trip - the staff are next level friendly and helpful :) . The hotel was a highlight of our trip, the views were amazing, breakfast was great - we cannot wait to come back. Special thanks to Samantha on reception for been so lovely and helpful for us.

Great location. Beautiful furnishings. Superb food. Excellent views. Professional and friendly and helpful staff. Only one issue that door leading into room not soundproof and lock not according to international safety standards.

Beautifull Hotel
Sadly, only a one night stop over whilst travelling the Garden Route, but we will go back for longer. Superb hotel with great service and very friendly staff. Room was large and spotless, and the food was delicious both evening meal and breakfast.

We had a lovely 1 night stay at Plettenberg whilst visiting the elephant sanctuary. Staff very amazing and very friendly. Food, drinks and views exceptional. Would definitely recommend

A lovely hotel with an old fashioned sense of service. We parked directly outside the hotel and had a lovely welcome from one of the managers who showed us our rooms ( in the annex) - our bags were brought up straight away. It was my birthday so they had upgraded us to a suite with a partial sea view. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with hairdryers and Milton brown toiletries. We didn’t use either of the pools as it was cold but they looked clean and inviting. We had pre dinner drinks in the bar and ate dinner in the restaurant - all very well presented and delicious. Would happily stay again. Delightful shopping area at the top of the street too.

The Plettenberg is a great, small luxury hotel where service is very attentive and all staff pay good attention to detail. A good complimentary mini-bar. Fabulous views and a good location for the town. Whilst the bathroom was absolutely fine I would say that these are probably the next thing to be done on the list to advance the standard to the best on the market, ie, walk in rain showers etc.

Beautiful hotel in stunning location overlooking the beaches and ocean and 3 blocks from the Main Street. Staff, service and room with four poster bed and patio leading to the pool were immaculate. Absolutely the best hotel in Plett - highly recommend.

Great view point and good breakfast
Really nice hotel and lovely stuff specially the General Manger. However , although I booked via hotels and forgot to mention it’s our honeymoon I did mention that while I arrived to the lady at the reception and nothing was done about that. We almost 2 weeks in SA traveling and this is the first hotel that didn’t congratulate us for that. In addition we got a room with a view to the parking area, we were told the the windows are double glass but we heard everything from outside and also from the corridor inside. I still recommend this hotel because of the view from the dining room, the food and the comfortable bed. I will Mention agin that the General Manager really care about his guest he really do but unfortunately the we’re missing in the small things such as our honeymoon

Amazing location on the water, nice views, friendly staff. Would like to stay here again one day. While we were there a water main broke which caused us to be unable to be able to shower. Although an inconvenience they handled the situation well.

A Banting breakfast needs tomato juice!
Always a special treat to stay at The Plettenberg, as we have been doing so for over 30 years now, and to see familiar faces such as Martha!! An extra treat was seeing at least 100 dolphins leaping and swimming along the shore line! The only slight disappointment was no tomato juice served at breakfast and then an extra charge was added for this.

Very nice location and hotel overall. Good spot to watch whales and dolphins in the bay. On a windy night the windows rattle, which we fixed by plugging them with bits of cardboard. However I would think is something that should have been addressed in the past by a 5 star hotel. Great stay overall, would return.

Enjoyable, but no Wow factor
There were many aspects of our stay that we enjoyed. However, a 5 star hotel should deliver and be a cut above the rest. We were slightly disappointed. Some of the staff were truly 5 star quality, but some required more training. There was a problem with demonstrators whilst we were staying, and the staff that were able to get to work were fabulous. The restaurant was supposed to be exceptional, but we found the menu limited. Breakfast was a disappointment for 5 stars. Overall, we would give this experience 4.5 stars, or lower 5 star establishment.
