Really relaxingPosted Nov 17, 2013
Pros: Location , food and service
Cons: More a hotel for adults , small pool area not ideal but the sea is a few minutes away so who cares!
Location: Went to see elephants, monkeys and birds , some great places to eat and drink close by - we strongly recommend the Lookout for drinks and Enrico's
A great location , with good food and fantastic value for anybody staying from the UK. The spa treatment we had was exceptional

Superb hotelPosted Nov 14, 2013
Pros: We loved the atmosphere and the decor which harmonised so well with the seaside location.
Cons: Swimming pools too small but not sure what could be done about that
Location: Out if the main season Plettenberg is a delight with plenty of local attractions. In the busy Christmas season it must be a bit of a nightmare.
A great place to stay with excellent well trained staff. We were particularly impressed by the fact that the lovely general manager was on hand at breakfast, pouring the coffee, chatting and making sure that guests were comfortable. Our room was beautifully decorated with a great view of the sea. We had dinner at the hotel each night and the standard of cuisine was high.

I predict a riot... A very nice one though!Posted Jan 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
A very nice hotel, overlooking the bay. Unfortunate to have to endure the staff protests outside our room, but the staff did their best to offer a great service, in tricky circumstances. A shame that the hotel don't seem to respond to emails. Oh... The restaurant (Seafood) was great. All in all, well worth a night or two.... Just don't go when there's strike action!

Fantastic place to stayPosted Jan 2, 2013
The Plettenberg Hotel is a delight to stay at. We stayed for three nights during a three week holiday, and it definitely rates in the top tier of places to stay. The staff and facilities are excellent.

Relaxation and harmony in Plettenberg BayPosted Dec 24, 2012
The position and views from the Pletenberg hotel are unbeatable. This together with the friendliness of the staff and managment made our stay wonderful and to be repeated.

Beautiful LocationPosted Oct 5, 2012
Cons: Pool not warm enough to use
Location: Overlooking the Ocean. Steps down to Bay
A beautiful small hotel in which you are made very welcome. Excellent food and room.
Beautiful settingPosted Jul 27, 2012 on Hotels.com
Beautiful setting. Very high standard of service. Lovely touches - like the hot water bottle in the bed at turndown ! Had a wonderful taster menu dinner followed by coffee in the lounge with a lit fire. Only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer.

The Plettenberg Hotel in Plettenberg, South AfricaPosted Jan 14, 2012 on Hotels.com
Whilst the hotel was in a lovely location with breathtaking views the room we were allocated disappointingly only had a side view of the sea. The level of service overall was far below what we would have expected from a 5* hotel - the airconditioning and safe were not working in our room, the New Year's Eve dinner service was so slow that the coffee and petis fours never arrived and the New Year's Day brunch was minimalist to say the least. To make matters worse the hotel staff cancelled our reservation to another restaurant in the town for New Year's Day as they claimed there was no one of our name staying at the hotel! Overall our experience was marred by these events and we found the hotel poor value for money.

Lovely Sea ViewPosted Dec 24, 2011
Hotel was quiet so David very kindly upgraded us to a sea view in the main building, main building seemed better than annex across the road. Had to be careful with security.
