Cons: Had a big tour bus in and dinning room alittle bit hectic. Re- setting up of tables wasnt done.
Very nice hotel and people very friendly. Balcony room overlooking ocean and many tidal pools. Good food and withing walking distance to another restaurant. Light house next door, good hike. Tours could be taken from hotel. Very pleased with the area and hotel.

Ticked all the boxes - amazing!Posted Jan 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
Room was clean, beautiful views over the sea (we were on the top floor), spacious balcony with large windows/glass door access. Bathroom was clean and stocked well. Complimentary wireless Internet in the room worked well. Breakfast buffet was amazing - one of the best we ever had. Lots of choices - cereals, fruits, yoghurt, 7-8 hot items (sausages, egg, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes), breads, cakes, and other extras (seeds, raisins, flax, etc). The breakfast was a highlight. We also ate supper in the restaurant (ordered from the a la carte menu) and the food was very good - large portions, and good prices. (We ordered 2 Indian dishes - excellent food). Would highly recommend this hotel, and definitely stay again. Free parking across the street from the hotel.

Great location if a bit tiredPosted Nov 7, 2013
We stayed for one night on our way along the Garden Route. The location is really quite stunning and we were able to watch two whales make their way around the headland from our room. We had booked a family room but when we arrived they offered us a superior room on the top floor instead (meant the kids slept on mattresses on the floor but they were happy) because the family room was on the bottom floor and they said it was smelling a bit damp (we looked, and they were right). The staff were really welcoming and the kids loved the tidal pool - not that it's obvious that it is actually a swimming pool. Food was good too. The only let down was the fading glory of the place, including the attached buildings and pool area. It just felt a bit unloved and lacking investment. Can't fault the location though and it was perfectly adequate.

A family friendly hotelPosted Feb 2, 2013
This hotel is close to the sea and my room had a beautiful view of the sea. If you are looking for a place to stay in the middle of Mossel Bay then this hotel is not for you. However if you are looking for somewhere to relax after a busy tour or safari then this is the place for you. The Point Hotel is also ideal for families as its very close to the sea, places for swimming and a walk up to the light house. I have stayed at this Hotel before and I would stay there again should I return to Mossel Bay.

Absolutely by the seaPosted Jan 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Points is the beach area of Mossel Bay; the hotel is right at point of the headland and views from the upper floors over the sea are stupendous. You do hear noise from the waves hitting the rocks, which can be disturbing to light sleepers. TV channels are limited and breakfast is not too inspiring.

The hotel is right over the rocky beach. The family room opened on to the rocky beach that you could just climb over. Fantastic beach with small kids- lagoons with shallow water and sandbank. Restaurant with a great view and breakfast buffet pretty good. Would definitely stay there again.

The Point Hotel Mossel BayPosted Sep 4, 2011 on Hotels.com
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view from our room was fantastic, we had a sea view. Recommend the restaurant, food excellent as was the service, and very reasonably priced. The hotel is close to the lighthouse and Cave. Dassies were delightful and quite tame, so much so that it was easy to get good photographs of them. There was only one problem with the shower, which was difficult to use and adjust without flooding the bathroom floor. All in all a very good hotel, and would certainly recommend it for a stay in Mossel Bay.
