My business and I use this Hotel at least 2 - 3 nights a month. The Hotel is generally great and staff friendly except this time. It is unreal how one person can make such a difference, and will contribute to your business decisions going forward. I made the mistake of asking for 2 rooms to be processed through one transaction and the utter bad attitude and generally reprehensible behaviour received from Olivia at the front desk was a true reflection of an individual that should not be in Hospitality!!! Unfortunate that one individual can ruin an otherwise great experience and ensure no future business to the hotel.

Service was excellent and common spaces are very smart and well-maintained. The room itself was a little tired and in need of some paint. In my aunt's room (103) the shower drain was blocked.

A Good choice
Although the hotel does need work, I found the hotel clean and comfortable. The room air conditioning was excellent as was the wifi, shower and bedding. They serve an excellent buffet breakfast.

Old hotel that is a little outdated - no elevators - making moving luggage a challenge. There was a plant around the property that gave off a bad musty smell during this time of year. Noticed the smell in other areas around Wilderness, so it may have not been addressable. Breakfast was great, pool was nice. Wish it had a hot tub.

Run down, dirty hotel in need of an overhaul
The hotel is run down and dirty. We moved rooms due to the mould caked in our aircon. There cockroaches in the room. The general areas are filthy. We used to absolutely love this hotel it was under previous management. I cant see it going on for much longer without a serious revamp. The hotel needs a manager to better oversea how it is run. So disappointing. We will not be back

Very unhygienic & uncomfortable stay
Hi, this is more of a 2.5 star hotel, the pictures on the website are very deceiving. We had entered to a very old setting, check-in was quick, breakfast was decent however the rooms are very uncomfortable & unhygienic - we had found spiders & spider webs in the corner of the rooms, the rooms are also infested with ants, they attack any food stuff lying around. Very disappointed, don't think I will ever consider revisiting this hotel.

The Hotel is being subtly transformed into something closer to its former grandeur. Its still a significant way off. Its tired and basic, but improving. The facilities are basic but functional and the staff are traned, helpful and polite. The location of the building is the best in town, expecially if you're there to sample the culinary delights on offer. In general, I recommend staying at this property. If you can, book a family room.

Just ok
An ok stay but the hotel is very dated. Some areas nice, others neglected. Didn't use the pool as the water was dirty/ very cloudy. Went and had a look at the spa but again, wouldn't use that. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Location is very good with lots of restaraunts within walking distance.

No water for shower but great hotel
What and excellent location and hotel is very big with lots of room and passages with sufficient rest/pause areas within the hotel, asked to sort out the shower water , they said they repaired it however a bottle of water is faster , was a bit of a let down (pity)

Amazing stay on the Garden Route
Really impressive stay. The accommodation was comfortable and safe. Beautiful views of the lagoon. The breakfast also exceeded expectations. Good scrumptious breakfast. Overall a great stay, with value for money in a beautiful part of the world-famous Garden route!

My wife and I stayed at this Hotel several times in the past and always felt that the service was reasonable and the location great. During our recent 6 day stay we found the service of the Hotel very poor, I would even rank it a 1 or no star. The quality of food was very poor, we opted to eat our meals at the restaurants in the vicinity.

Great service. The reception desk must have seen how exhausted we were from traveling all day. They upgraded and changed our room to one at the front of the hotel. It was a larger room and less distance to walk to.
