The hotel is a nice hotel and front desk staff are very nice and welcoming. My only suggestion is that they need to improve housekeeping. This is done on alternate days of your stay. They should at least refill water and change towels.

Beautiful surrounding at the water, walkable community and to restaurants. I am a daily walker and walked even to North Beach. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. The premises are clean, modern, and the coffee is good!

The girl at the front desk Lisa, was so nice and actually gave us an upgrade in our room because it was available and it was my wife's birthday. We had such a great time she even helped us find bars and restaurants in the area that we would it was just a great great experience. Also the girl that worked at night Anita, is so nice and it was good being able to talk to her about the area around. All in all we are so glad that we chose rod and reel resort to come to, and we will definitely be back. I score this resort five stars overall as a destination get away and have a really good time. I personally want to say thank you to all the staff for letting this be a rememberable trip.

Still under construction. Rooms can use some updating. The decor is old. The first time I stayed there almost 13 years ago. I thought it was fantastic. It stale now. Need an upgrade. This stay was noisy with children thumping and bumping around in their nearby room. On Friday night it continued pass the “ Quiet Time “ even up till 2:00 am. Once I finally got to sleep . Then we were awakened at 4:00 am by the fire alarm. We chose to check out at 4:15 am since we were up. Not the Anniversary trip we planned. Disappointed! ☹️

The property is undergoing a renovation so the beach area is unavailable and parking is inconvenient, especially if you are elderly or disabled. Dining facility is a significant distance from the hotel entrance and there is no room service available.

It was nice, the staff was excellent! They upgraded our room since it was our 30th wedding anniversary weekend. It was quiet but in all fairness, it is off season so not much going on. The indoor pool was closed but that was due to remodeling. All in all, it was a nice stay but I'm sure it will be better once the renovations are done. We will plan to go back .

It’s a nice hotel but they have changed a few things and there’s no assistance for handicap with all the construction, parking is to far from front of hotel and they stop the breakfast in the lobby in the morning

I truly like Rod n Reel. This may be my 10th - 12th Visit. Wish they had a basic continental breakfast Rewards program for frequent visitor Weekend shuttle to North Beach and back for non drivers - there is no taxi service or Uber service in the area.

I loved everything about the Rod and Reel Resort and can’t wait to return in the Spring. My room, the lobby area, and overall property was fresh and clean. I loved the outdoor area and promenade, and how convenient the hotel is to the boardwalk and local recreational activities. Each staff member I engaged with was professional and friendly and I pay myself on the back for making such an awesome choice. Thank you Rod and Reel Staff!

Reserve king size bed suite with a balcony. Balcony had A huge AC unit outside of my door. I do not have a balcony or view. Room was missing a desk chair. Terrible room assigned even though there were lot of empty rooms available.

I had four major issues with this resort. First, due to ongoing renovations, the parking area was distant from the check-in location. Second, there is a non-refundable $20 charge per night which is called a “resort fee” (presumably helping to pay for renovations!). Third, I found the host staff indifferent, cold, and uncaring. No helpful information was offered, one had to ask about every detail. Finally, when my wife became ill on the first night of a two-night reservation, and we requested to cancel our second night, the manager denied us ANY refund, despite the fact that Expedia had approved the refund. I will certainly NOT be going back to Rod ‘N’ Reel!!!

Although the room was a bit dated, it was very clean and the staff was very friendly! The view of Chesapeake Bay was beautiful, too!
