Pros: See above.
Property is clean and tidy. Large bedroom with a double and single bed. Bed was comfortable. Trash in the bathroom was not thrown out from prior tenant. No additional rolls of toliet paper. When asked to take care of these two items - the response was immediate. When took shower, the drain didn't flow out fast enough and flooded the entire bathroom. A plumber may be able to assist with this problem as a waste of towels to soak up water. Otherwise, we had no other issues with the room or stay. We ate in their restaurant around 8:00 p.m. - the meal was large and sufficient. Dessert included. We would go back if we had a different room where more care was taken and the drain in the shower did its job.

Great hotel to relax and take in the countryside

Posted Oct 18, 2012
Pros: the views are spectacular, and the staff are warm and friendly
Glasson Hotel is a scenic and beautiful area surrounded by a golf course and Lough (lake). It is a family owned and operated hotel. We met Mom, Dad and daughter, who actually helped carry my bag. The staff is warm and friendly and that comes from the owners. The general manager stopped by to chat one day at lunch and upon hearing of where we were headed pulled out his cell and called ahead to have an acquaintance meet up with us. It turned out to be the highlight of our entire Irish holiday. Glasson & Athlone are in the center of Ireland and are less 'touristy' than Dublin, Galway or Cork so if you are interested in seeing part of the Irish countryside and meet with the locals we highly recommend staying here. We were thrilled with our stay and sorry to leave.

Pros: Spacious room with beautiful view.
Cons: Not enough chairs outside to relax and enjoy the view.
Location: Off the beaten track in a picturesque village.
We had a very pleasant stay in this lovely spacious hotel set in quiet, peaceful surroundings. Staff were really helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again:-)

Glasson Hotel

We stayed one night at this hotel for a wedding & it was wonderful. The room was lovely & very large & had all the amenities you would expect. The hotel was also superb, the wedding was held there & everything was perfect. The staff were more than helpful too, we hadn't booked for the night of the wedding as we had to leave late night to get back for a flight but when they saw I was heavily pregnant they offered to find me a room to rest in if I needed to during the day. All in all a brilliant experience & I would highly recommend!
