vacation experience

Pros: the breakfast
Cons: clean it up, maybe hire security.
I found out by the locals this hotel is used by government agencies to house people that are homeless. There was shopping baskets full of black garbage bags by the back doors, the carpets were filthy on the stairs. LOTS of activity at night, people wondering around cars. I was not comfortable at all.

Nasty stench, holes in walls!

Posted Jul 14, 2014
This was the worst hotel I've ever experienced. When we opened the door, the stench hit us like a ton of bricks. We had a room that had 3 Queen beds and there were only 3 towels in the room. The bathroom walls were full of holes. The hotel is advertised as having a pool, but the pool was being renovated so no pool. That was our saving grace because the hotel was no cancel/no refund, but because of the lack of pool, they moved us to another hotel in town. I would never recommend anyone stay at this hotel!

Would stay again.

Room was very clean and very comfortable. What I didn't like was the fact that this was the one and only hotel I have ever stayed in that needed a security guard, and while checking in, the hotel clerk and security guard were talking about the 4 new cameras they were getting, which made me feel unsafe, like I was maybe in a bad area. What I loved was that the hotel had a 'convenience store' so I didn't have to leave to find my kids dessert. I didn't like the breakfast AT ALL. It was a joke. The front counter gave me a 'voucher' for breakfast that I had to turn in. There was only cereal, for which they supplied the smallest bowls I have ever seen, bread, for which there were two slices left, and waffles which were empty of batter. Mind you, this was well before breakfast was over. It was an aweful breakfast. One we got back to the room, neither of our keys worked. I think the front desk checked is out when we turned in our breakfast voucher. I have it a three because the rooms were wonderful.

Close to mountains

Didn't know Denver area prior to booking and this hotel is west - close to Golden. That aspect I loved. Only a 10 minute commute to Denver in morning. Booked for 8 days and was told that since I booked through Expedia, I wasn't entitled to their breakfast. What? I usually eat a healthy breakfast in my room so it was of little consequence but it was the fact that I paid for a week and was denied a complimentary service. Don't book a room with locking adjoining doors - noise pollution.
