There were six of us adults. After 46 years these three men got back together to talk, laugh and cry about their Vietnam days. Along with their wives, we enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn in Wheeling West Virginia. The shuttle bus was a blessing and the drivers of the bus were so very polite and kept us informed of the area. The hotel staff and rooms were excellent as was the breakfast provided for all. We would recommend this hotel to all. Thank-you for a very enjoyable visit.

Clean, Comfortable, and Convenient

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: Everything.
We totally enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn in Wheeling, West Virginia. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was close and convenient to where we needed to travel. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the gym. The warm cookies at night were also a great treat.

Best Hotel in this price range in this area!!

Pros: Aquatic Zone w great hrs, Noon Checkout, Great Breakfast included w great hrs 6-10AM & waffle station & is restocked, Robes in rooms, Beds & Bedding
Cons: Nothing!
Location: In Wheeling; there is a CVS across the street, TJ's & other resturants across the street, & a Bob Evans on premises, Free shuttle rides within 5 miles
Living in Pittsburgh & only 1 hour away, we will be back again definitely - we were given great directions to visit the Hindu Palace of Gold which is what we came to see - about 20 minutes away and closer to Moundsville; We enjoyed the 2 Steam Rooms with eaculpytus - it dissipated my dad's June pollen allergy! We enjoyed the hot tubs - one outside and one inside, the pool and jet showers - it was busy with kids Friday evening, but Saturday morning between 9-11AM I was the only one to have the whole space. The hours of the Aquatic Zone are great - open late and open early, as is the gym with self locking lockers - has cardio and weights; I used the ironing board to iron a very wrinkled shirt& was grateful to have it there - the white terry robes were very clean and very nice to have to wear - it gave a resort feel and was relaxing to wear around; Nice cold iced tea & good cookies at the front desk, & also fruit and lots of tea and coffee choices as well as a shop next to the front desk to buy wine and snacks. Breakfast was constantly replenished & even includes a waffle station & we sat in the outside garden at 9:30AM on the wooden rocking chairs and enjoyed sitting by the fire pit that was on! So nice to hear the birds, and be in a garden with a fire pit at 9 in the morning - there's also a smoker's gazebo made out of lovely wood with it's own fire and greenery that allows privacy. Beds were the best quality - we heard that they were new - & the bedding was crisp white & cozy

Nice Place in Wheeling

Posted Jun 7, 2015
Pros: Clean, good location and free shuttle.
Cons: Common areas a bit cluttered, should be open more.
Location: Good restaurants.
Wheeling WV is not the most glamorous places to visit. Most hotels are run down, poorly located and just dull. Excited to find a Hampton Inn as I am rarely disappointed in their quality and service. Under some construction, this location will be better in a year. The fire pit is a great meeting place, Hoping they can expand this area just a bit, space is not as well organized as it could be.

Pleasantly surprised

The hotel seems to have been recently renovated and was very clean and comfortable. On Monday nights they served a dinner in the hotel that was very tasty dinner (wedding soup, chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and chocolate cake). Better yet, it was free!
