Oglebay stayPosted Jul 2, 2015
Hotel breakfast is expensive and is not of great quality. Most of the items (such as English muffins, croissants) were not available by 9 AM or so

Pros: See above! Oh, and the views from nearly every venue - our room, the dining rooms ,etc. - were spectacular!
Cons: It could be nearer than a full day's drive from our home!
Location: The location is great, on top of a hill, and the adjoining zoo is fun. The Park is near downtown Wheeling, near I70 and the southern roads, but very
We arrived in late afternoon, and were immediately pleased with the facility and staff. We were welcomed, then later received a recorded welcome, both times encouraging us to call or stop at the front desk if we needed anything. Our room was exceptional, it was comfortable and quiet, had a balcony, two-room bath, king bed, refrigerator and sit-at bar. Our stay was very pleasant, and each meal we had at the lodge (I think 6 in all) was successful - they had just what we were wanting to eat. The service was prompt and the servers were friendly. the whole facility is great, though due in part to its size, not everything is quite perfect - some things need painting or fixing, but nothing big! We would definitely stay at Wilson Lodge, Oglebay Park again if we were in the area.

Pros: As stated above.
Cons: The food was okay and could be significantly improved for the price. One evening they ran out of Feta cheese on a salad. Not the mark of a great hotel
Location: Very beautiful location in the mountains of W. VA with plenty to do at the resort. Golf, swimming (indoor and outdoor), an arboretum, a zoo and other
The hotel was gorgeous and the staff went out of their way to be helpful and courteous. The room was very nice and there were many things to do and enjoy.

Pros: We loved the area, the beauty of West Virginia
Cons: Registration, per above. To the employees that work at front desks and know exactly where lodging is, better directions should be given to guests.
Location: Don't know, was not told about anything
When I was registering, I was not told the monies would be immediately taken from my account, nor was I told I could make reservations for my grandchildren to have breakfast with Santa. When I found this out I called the hotel, about the cost, basically, it is what it is...When I looked on line and found out that the children could have breakfast with Santa I called they were sold out, but I was forwarded to the voice mail of Valerie for whom I left a message, but my call was not returned, it was a very disappointing $413.80 later for a one night stay, arriving late on Friday night, only to leave the next day before 11 a.m.

The room size was great but the bed and decor was really old, outdated and somewhat uncomfortable
