Very well appointed and decorated rooms
Posted Jan 16, 2013
Pros: Decor, comfort.
Cons: Attitude of the staff. He was a little frustrated with how online travel companies work with small venues like his.
The rooms were decorated at a level of a room you would expect to pay much more, with granite countertops in the bathroom, high quality and highly decorative furniture, big flatscreen TV with HBO included.

Expedia does not disclose extra fee.
Posted Jan 4, 2013
Pros: The hotel was recently remodeled - the room was nice and clean.
Cons: Breakfast mediocre, coffee makers not provided, Expedia does not disclose extra charge.
Location: Convenient location.
The hotel was recently remodeled - the room was nice and clean. The continental breakfast is rather mediocre, coffee makers are not made available in rooms, and bed frames are noticeably larger than the mattresses. When booked through Expedia, the hotel charges noticeable fee to cover its expenses for Expedia services, and this fee is not disclosed by Expedia when reservation is made.

Good for value with surprise.

Pros: location, clean
Cons: unexpected fees
Location: quiet neighborhood
Very quiet and good hotel. We didn't take breakfast, it was muffins and coffee. Room looks and feels clean. I was surprised to see in my bill on-line booking fee which was not shown on Expedia.

High end motor inn
Posted Jan 16, 2013
Pros: Great rooms, very comfortable
Cons: Plain common areas, breakfast
Location: Walk to Windjammer Park in Oak Harbor
By far the nicest motel/motor inn I've stayed at. Rooms had high end finishes, great bed and shower. Continental breakfast was basic and the common areas plain, but overall a great stay. Just two blocks from the start of the Whidbey Marathon.

Very clean, comfortable, modern & quiet.
Posted Jan 12, 2012
Pros: Favorite things were nice soft beds, nice bathrooms, and quiet.
Cons: Coffee in the entry not always available (this is from a coffee addict).
Location: On the main street accessable to everything in town.
Outside of hotel is older, but rooms are newly remodeled with really nice tile, carpet and fixtures. Beds are very comfortable and everything was very clean. Only down side was the continental breakfast was just muffins or bagels and coffee at a small counter down by the check-in, and no coffee or hair dryers in the rooms, however you could get a coffee pot for your room upon request, but you have to bring your own coffee. But for the rate (comparable to Motel 6) it was more like the quality of a Hilton type room. The General Manager was very friendly and accommodating. I would definately stay there next time I visit Oak Harbor.

Great Downtown Location - Clean & Comfortable
Posted Jan 21, 2012
Pros: Clean & Comfortable - great location downtown Oak Harbor
Cons: Cheap towels, and cheap shampoo and soap
Location: Right downtown Oak Harbor across from the Safeway, close to a breakfast place and within walking distance to other businesses like Starbucks.
Great downtown location. Air conditioning didn't work really, the soap and shampoo were really comical - super cheap - no hairdryer in our room. But the best thing was it had 3 double beds! Perfect for kids on a weekend trip. The hotel clerk did say that he had to add on-line booking fee because of the on-line fees he is charged... seemed kind of shady. Overall I think the price was fair compared to other hotels in the area.

Adequate for short stay
Posted Jan 8, 2012
The carpet in the room was sticky and dirty. The room itself was nice with nice, updated furniture and TV. The person at the desk was somewhat disheveled. The outter doors to the hallways where my room was were left open to the outside parking lot all night. I assume this was to cool the hallway. As a female traveling alone on business, it left me uncomfortable in terms of safety. It was adequate for a very short stay but I would not stay there again.
