Great Location

Posted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: Just across the road from the main tourist areas and restaurants. Room very comfortable with all amenities including a safe.
Location: As near as you would want to be to sport, siteseeing and eating areas.
Arrived early - not a problem. Parking pricey but public lot nearby.

Good choice

Posted Sep 8, 2014
We had a nice stay at the Aava for two nights. There was nothing really fancy, but the place is relatively new and well kept. The kids really liked the pool and hot tub outside, and although we didn't take advantage of the service, the free use of the adult bicycles is a great idea. We would have totally done this if there were bikes for kids as well. This hotel seemed to be geared more towards young people without kids. The only thing that concerned me was the sign going from the elevators to the underground parkade that mentions about the area being subject to flooding - doesn't really evoke confidence in the on-site parking option, especially when the fees for parking down there are fairly steep. I would consider staying at this hotel again, but will also be checking out other options as well before I book.

Terrible hotel!

Posted Sep 5, 2014
We arrived in our room which was meant to be double the size it wasn't, there was still old food left in the fridge as well. The staff was terrible never available and rude when they were. The room was nice but with the experience you're much better off staying elsewhere.

Good location, poor furnishings

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Furnishings and cleanliness of common areas.
Location: The Village Square is 3 minutes walk as is the Grocery Store.
We stayed here for two nights and had an overall good stay. However, the dirty elevators and parking, very soft mattresses and crushed pillows lead to a poor sleeping experience. Could return only if they were to fix these.

The basics..nothing more.

Posted Sep 4, 2014
The location is very good, very near the centre of the Village. The room had a stale smell but was not noticeably dirty. The rooms had a very "dorm like" feel to them. Staff were polite but certainly not overly friendly or helpful. For the price this is an acceptable hotel but no more than acceptable.

Pros: great location...close to everything...food,restaurants, bars, rentals...
Cons: bigger room, microwave...
Location: hiking, biking, touring...go to the Scandinavian Spa which is a 5 min drive North right off the highway...Fantastic Spa! Best massage I ever had..
room was nice, bed was good, very small room! no view, staff ok... there was no microwave in the room which was disappointing.

Recently updated, loved the bike valet

Posted Aug 26, 2014
The Aava is a pretty typical hotel that has been recently updated with modern furnishings and decor. Not a bad choice for staying at Whistler. The location is a block or two from the pedestrian area, which could be good or bad. There isn't a restaurant on site, so you'll need to walk over for each meal. Loved having a bike valet service to take the hassle out of storing the bikes. The rooms are on the small side and felt really cramped for a family of four.
