Best hotel I've stayed at

The ski & snowboard valet service was incredibly convenient and is literally 200 feet from Wizard's Chair. The staff was incredibly friendly and amazingly helpful. Rooms were clean, beds were very comfortable, pool and hot tubs were clean and well staffed. There are several restaurants all with great food and service. It's a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it. We will definitely be staying here again.

Great location for families

Pros: Location, service, amenities
Location: Hotel is located away from the village but steps to the base of blackcomb. However, the front desk team will shuttle you anywhere in whistler go.
Our 3rd time staying at the hotel. Took the family for spring break. We love the pool and how close it is to Blackcomb base and ski school. The staff are incredible- the valet/concierge team are outstanding. Live music and chocolate fondue in the lounge after skiing. A great trip.

What a disappointment.

I was completely disappointed with our stay here. The front desk reception was gorgeous and the lady who helped us was very friendly at check in. Convinced us to upgrade, thank god we did, I would have hated to see the standard room. The rooms were dated, clean but DATED! Old, run down, I felt like I was sleeping in my grandma's basement, and for the price it was disappointing. I have stayed at other places in whistler for the same price or less and this was the worst. Upon check in we were asked if we would prefer to be close or away from the elevator, I chose away. Big mistake, we were placed away indeed, next to a family with screaming kids running up and down the hallway in their wet swimshorts. Then they proceeded to pull on the door connecting our room to theirs. We could clearly hear our neighbours conversations and screaming kids. We opted not to change rooms because we were only there for the night but I will not be returning nor do I recommend this hotel to anyone well travelled. You will be seriously disappointed.

As a landmark property within the resort, we strive to preserve the classic alpine setting of the hotel along with continuous upgrades and enhancements. Since 2010 we have renovated our guestroom corridors and Health Club as well as 100 guestrooms. We are aware that certain room categories require renovations and are thus targeting a selection of rooms and suites each year. I was disappointed to hear that you experienced noisy guests next door to you, we have had an exceptionally busy winter in Whistler, however, it does not excuse the shortfalls in service and comfort that you did experience during your stay. I truly appreciate your valuable feedback and can assure you that your comments have been taken very seriously and will be beneficial in assisting us in the future. Very good location, awesome staff, several excellent options for eating both at the hotel and nearby, fantastic pool and health club. Loved the drinks at the lounge. The rooms are starting to show signs that an update is needed. Overall great experience.

Great facilities ... love the outdoor hotubes!

Pros: Pool facilities and pet friendly.
Cons: A fan in the bathroom would be good.
Location: good location and closed to whislter village (about 10 minutes walk)
By far the best fairmont chateau (comparison with other ones) in terms of rooms size and facilities. The Gold floor room is descent size with nice view and clean. The washroom is small and basic. The kettle was not working and the TV input functions not working at all (brought HDMI cables but couldnt see a thing). The health club, indoor and outdoor pools and hotubes are great. The food for room service was really good. Specially appreciate that they are pet friendly. Overall good price for the stay.

excellent service

we had mistakenly booked for the wrong date/month (March 1 instead of February 1). When we arrived, the courteously pointed this out and then offered us a room for the night on a complimentary basis. This had never happened to me with mistaken reservations before and the clerk at the registration desk handled if all very gracefully.
