excellent servicePosted Mar 3, 2014
we had mistakenly booked for the wrong date/month (March 1 instead of February 1). When we arrived, the courteously pointed this out and then offered us a room for the night on a complimentary basis. This had never happened to me with mistaken reservations before and the clerk at the registration desk handled if all very gracefully.

DisappointingPosted Feb 11, 2014
Cons: Clean hotel housecoats, a working TV remote, free wifi would be nice! I mean 13.95$ for wifi is really a bit much. Parking should be included.
Location: Plus it's a bit of a walk to get into the main village area! Not a big problem if you are enjoying the hotel but annoying when you are not.
I booked this hotel because I expected it to be a step above. Little did I know its pretty much the same as all others just a lot more expensive. The room was nothing special and the bed hurt my back. Despite paying a lot for the room, it was still an extra charge to park your car and to use the wireless internet. $13.95 for wifi per device. Really? Why can't it all just be included? I didn't come here so that I have to pay for a hundred additional charges for everything! And you couldn't even throw in free wireless? gimme a break! The water pressure in the shower was pathetic, the housecoats provided had stains on them, the TV remote didn't work, it was all pretty disappointing. I can stay in a cheaper hotel that is just as comfortable, probably cleaner and most likely has free wifi. You guys are supposed to be a luxury hotel. Why cut corners when it comes to things like wifi and parking? Don't you want your guests to feel pampered and taken care of? Why not make sure the housecoats look clean and the TV remote works? Its the little things okay! Next time I'm going to just hit up one of the regular hotels in the area that is cheap and probably just as comfy.

perfect family hotel for a ski vacationPosted Feb 11, 2014
From the moment we arrived this was an incredible family experience. The valet team are efficient and unbelievably helpful- carrying skis, bags and general belongings for 3 kids. The pool facilities are wonderful- with many pools/hot tubs and a bar/lounge area. Room service breakfast was perfect before a day of skiing. Ski valet is a great service especially with gear for kids. The location is ideal for BlackComb ski school- drop off is close. We will definitely be back!

Fading Beauty but Still PleasantPosted Feb 10, 2014
I always enjoy staying here. It has location, comfort and convenience going for it but it needs investment. Rooms and common areas look a little run down.

I wouldn't go back to the Chateau WhistlerPosted Feb 3, 2014
Pros: The Mallard Lounge
Cons: Lot's, see note above.
I had spent 5 nights at the Four Seasons before moving over to the Chateau Whistler and was very disappointed with the overall experience at the Chateau and to the contrast, the Four Seasons experience was excellent. There were many little things that made the Chateau not measure up. We arrived back in our room one day after skiing to find that it had not been cleaned. Housekeeping removed the robes so we had to call down for new ones to be delivered and by the time they arrived we didn't need them anymore. The newspaper arrived late or didn't arrive at all. There were screw ups in the restaurant with food orders and on and on. When I spoke to the manager to express my concerns all she did was make excuses and apologise, never once asked what she could do to make things better....didn't even offer to buy us a drink and both of us are Platinum President Club members with Fairmont

Best ski in/ski out resort ever!Posted Jan 23, 2014
Pros: Location to the ski lift was right outside the resort and having the skis & snowboards stored and waiting was an unbelievable luxury!
Cons: Lame excuse, lie, about the mini-fridge not working."It's an electric cooler. If something is cold, it will keep it cold...for a while." Pathetic!
Location: Besides skiing & boarding, the shopping & dining were right there too. Convenience store & liquor store next door.
Overall experience was amazing! Loved the ski and boot valet! Housekeeping staff was polite & generous. Car valet staff were cool. The Fairmont is beautiful. Lived up to my wife's high standards. Already talking ( 2 days later) about coming back next year.
