Fantastic place to stay with family.

The Fairmont at the bottom of Blackcomb is set up perfectly for families. Great pools, ski concierge services, 100 yards to lifts, easy walk to Whistler Village, fantastic buffet breakfast, amazing biking right out the door. It will be an annual trip for us from now on.

Very nice hotel, but a bit old.

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Well-trained staff.
Cons: Rooms need to be renovated.
Location: It's in the Blackcomb area, so not much is happening near by. But it is a short walk to Whistler Village
The Chateau has the great service you would expect from a Fairmont hotel, but this hotel is a bit old and needs a renovation. My room was comfortable and bathroom clean. It would be better if more attention is paid to detail, like upgrading the light switch (The ones they use feel like those used at a 2-star Inn). The A/C in my room was a bit noisy, so it may bother a light sleeper. The gym/pool area small and crowded, but staff in the health club extremely nice.

Excellent hotel, great ski valet service! Wifi in room not always working. Be careful if you intend to work there!

Wonderful Hotel, Amazing Staff, Great Location

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: The staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly (and we have been to quite a few highly rated hotels). Ski rental and valet in hotel made it easy.
Cons: Not much really....Could have told us verbally on arrival about kids Games room facility, but it was advertised on the LCD screens.
Location: ZipTrek, Snow school for Children and Teens, Private Ski lessons, Great Ski & apres ski shopping. Good variety of restaurants and bars at Whistler.
We just had our first family skiing holiday this Easter holiday, with our 2 boys age 11 & 13 years, and we heard Whistler was the place to learn and have a great apes ski experience.... We were not disappointed, even if it was the worst snow conditions in years! We stayed in a standard room with 2 queen beds (actually king size by UK standards), slope side, though in the absence of snow at the base of Blackcomb, the view was not that impressive unfortunately (not the hotels fault though!) Room was spacious, clean, & the beds very comfortable. Room service was very good, and we had complementary water bottles every day. Robe and slippers could be requested and delivered to the room of required, which we did in order to use the heated outside pool and jacuzzi/hot tubs, and sauna & steam rooms. The breakfast buffet at The Wildflower was varied and delicious, Portobello's offered a good breakfast selection too. We ate at The Grill, and the steak and the lobster mac were delicious. The Mallard Bar also has a good drink & food menu, and I can highly recommend the Elk & Pork chilli. My youngest son unfortunately had an accident while skiing, and the WhistlerBlackcomb Snow School & the mountain Snow Patrol dealt with the incident well and the hotel delivered ice packs (free) to our room when requested for the bruising. As far as family friendly goes, it was fabulous! - a games room 2 - 10pm with video games, pool, air hockey etc., and free candy floss, coke, cookies. Boys were :-)

Pros: Staff were really nice and very child friendly (e.g. egg hunts and candy floss on tap for Easter)
Cons: Although housekeeping were efficient in every other way, the room was incredibly dusty for some reason.
Family of five managed okay in a single room, with an extra single bed added.

Good place to stay. Got a discount through work, otherwise this would have been very expensive for an equivalent hotel. No complains, the staff were extremely helpful. Just lacked a bit of flair for such an expensive rate.
