Covered Bridge River View Lodge- Jackson NH

Posted Jan 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
The location was superb! It captured the beauty of Ellis River as well as the White Mountains. The room needed some work (some lights for the balcony and hall didn't work; bathroom shower didn't drain well) but the indoor jaquzzi was beautiful and very relaxing. The indoor fireplace as shown on their website is as beautiful and cozy as it looks in the picture. The owners were very friendly and sweet also!

Do not stay here!!

Posted Jan 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
The rooms were not clean. The so called "kitchen" was a 4x4 fridge in the closet and a keurig on the counter with no k cups. No shampoo or soaps in the shower. The ice machine and hot tub were broken. The lady at the front desk said she would have maintenance get a fire ready for us in the lodge. We went back to our Room to put our bags away and when we returned she had locked the front door to the lodge so we couldn't get in and put a sign on the door saying no one would be returning till 7:30 AM. It was an awful experience to say the least. Our only saving grace was the fact that there was a bar and restaurant across the street to hang out at.

Anniversary overnight

The room was spacious enough and had a lovely view of the river. Unfortunately, the building to our left had a direct view in, so it was not comfortable to leave the drapes open to enjoy the view. The TV service was good. The atmosphere is of a motel. The lobby was nice and had a homey gathering room, yet the lights were too low to sit and read. We saw a fire in fireplace upon checkout, but would have enjoyed it during the late afternoon and evening of our stay. The morning breakfast was very spartan: bagels, juice, coffee, yet everything was tidy. The heat was comfortable, shower was hot and the facility very clean and convenient to our stay for x-country skiing, right outside the Jackson covered bridge. For the price we paid, it was very fair.

Not what we expected. Room was clean, and there was a river view, but it was a motel, not a lodge. Staff was rude. Bare bones accommodations. Smelled of cigarette smoke in hallway (disgusting), skimpy towels and tiny bar soap in BR. No shampoo, unless you ask.

Great location, less than preferred mattresses

Posted Aug 28, 2012
Pros: It was clean, welcoming, and cozy.
Cons: The mattresses were uncomfortable - feeling the springs in your back.
Location: Perfect location in relation to StoryLand!
This hotel was pleasant inside and out. Cozy, inviting and family friendly! Great location if you're visiting StoryLand. The only downside to the hotel is the quality of the beds. They were uncomfortable, but adequate for a one night's stay. This place could benefit from upgraded mattresses.
