Close to Pinkham Notch

Posted Jul 25, 2015
Pros: Location
Location: Hike or drive Mt. Washington
Hotel is very close to Pinkham Notch and is a good choice for those who wish to hike Mt. Washington. Definitely a historic hotel. Does not have all the bells and whistles, but its main draw is the old world charm. The room was comfortable, make sure to bring a multiple outlet plug as there were many available plugs in the room. We carry a lot of electronics so we are always prepared with our extra plug. Nice shower with great water pressure!!

Pretty Hotel on the outside

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: The lobby.
Cons: See above
Location: There is alot to do around the area.
The hotel looks pretty on the outside. Inside, they need an interior decorator, country primitive wallpaper patterns mixed with waverly pattern curtains. The carpets are worn with holes in them, windows dirty, staff not very friendly, no customer service with some of the staff, food is overpriced and not that good, disorganized. If they are going to market the hotel as a historic hotel they need to bring it up to par with other historic hotels. The room is overpriced and very mixed matched.

Like stepping back in time!

It feels like you have entered a different era walking up the steps of the EMH but with some modern day amenities! My daughter loved that they had sleds on the porch for her to use! This was our fourth time staying there & each time has made a fond memory!

The ambience of the hotel was nice, restaurant in the hotel had five star service and the food was excellent. The room was subpar, there was paint peeling from the ceiling, you could hear activity in other rooms. Halfway through my shower and went cold and there might of been 30 guests in the hotel...I wouldn't recommend the hotel for a couple that is looking for a solid quiet couple of nights away. It also rubbed me the wrong way that I had to pay five dollars a night for refrigerator and there was no microwave in the room. When I go away I expect a hotel to have a microwave and a refrigerator in the room. It wasn't the best room experience.

Quick winter break

A great place to use as a base for our skiing break. Very quiet at this time of year.
