Great staff, great food, great view, great skiing

We enjoyed our ski retreat and were happy to see an improvement in the food offerings! As always the wonderful staff, convenient skiing outside the door and the most beautiful view made our stay the best!

Nice mountain area.

Posted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: Staff were very nice, front desk (she) gave us a lot of insight of the area.
Cons: Better mattress
Location: Golf course across the street Jackson falls Outlet shopping 5-10 miles
The hotel has charater, if you like older properties You would like this. The lounge area is small but very charming. The staff are great. We plan on going back.

Nice homey hotel

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Cons: Only issue I had was lack of outlets in the room. Very few, but it was manageable.
The room was really nice and had an old feel in a good way. Lots of antiques and very friendly staff.

Great old wood hotel

Posted Mar 14, 2014
This is a creaky old hotel. Very European. It is charming but it is not quiet. You can hear your neighbors and people in the hall very clearly. That being said, it is in a great location, across from cross-country skiing, a few minutes drive from Black Mtn, a few more to Wildcat for downhill. Pub and restaurant are lovely, food and service surprisingly good. I also got a very reasonable price ($100) for a double room for a Saturday night at the last moment in great ski weather.

Good place for an overnight ski trip

Posted Mar 10, 2014
I stayed here with two friends for a quick ski day and overnight. It was affordable and comfortable. The rustic vibe was nice in the common areas, but the rooms are definitely outdated. Overall, highly recommended if a pleasant and affordable but not high-end stay is what you want.

Extremely old and out dated!

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Nothing.
Location: Quaint little Jackson village--beautiful.
We overpaid for one night stay. We were welcomed with a surprised looked front desk clerk exclaiming--how did you get a one night stay here? Then he noted that we booked through expedia, we were directed to our special room on ground floor-which in essence was outside around the back through a side door to the "basement". Nasty! Best word I can come up with--Nasty!

Charming Hotel on the ski trails

Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Jacuzzi after ski was wonderful! The situation is marvelous.
Location: The domain of Cross country ski is simply fabulous...
We only spent one night at the Eagle Mountain House and we enjoyed cross country ski. The hotel is welcoming, cozy, convenient and very quiet. We loved this very" New England atmosphere"... Hope to come back again, and stay longer!

Pet friendly room?

Posted Jan 27, 2014
We were given a "pet-friendly room" in a half basement floor without a notice in advance. Although we did not bother to change the room, it was not pleasant to imagine that animals were there before our stay.

Great location, quaint, clean and a bit rustic.

Posted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: Quaint, clean, friendly
Cons: Beds were very clean, but one was a bit squeaky. It was pet friendly, my cousin thought she could smell dogs, but I could not.
Location: We ate at the Red Fox which was good, close to 302 and 16. Big and it did not break the bank!
For a family of five, this hotel was of great value. The hotel is over 100 years old and quaint. Jackson, NH is adorable and easy to get too. We skiied Bretton Woods which was about 35 minutes away, Attitash, just about 10. It had easy access to North Conway too. The buffet breakfast for only $12. We were with two other families and there was plenty of places w/in the hotel for us to meet and hang out.
