Home away from home in the White Mountains

Posted Jan 6, 2014
Amazing experience with fantastic breakfast and cozy atmosphere. Our host was accommodating and very interesting providing helpful advise when asked and offering stories and tips on the area. The building is wonderfully decorated with a room for drinking wine (provided by owner) and an assortment of hot drinks (also free of charge) next to a gas fireplace. The inn is small enough for an intimate romantic feel yet hosts multiple couples or travellers for breakfast conversations. I will be recommending this inn to anyone who travels in the state of New Hampshire and a must stay.

Cons: The owner has a great dog, but my husband has bad allergies so we wish we knew beforehand.

Great Bed & Breakfast in the White Mountain Area !

Posted Oct 20, 2013
Pros: Great Location right downtown but far enough off the main drag that there were no traffic noises. Very home-like feeling. Attentive staff.
Cons: Our bathroom was about the smallest full bathroom on the planet. But it was clean and well appointed.
Location: Convenient to everything in the area. About 18 miles south of the Mt Washington Auto Rd. 10 Blocks from the historic railroad park.
My wife and I stayed at the Red Elephant Inn on our recent 35th Anniversary trip that we planned to take in the fall foliage of the area. I am now a big believer in Bed and Breakfasts in part as a result of the wonderful treatment that we experienced at the Red Elephant. Rob, the owner, runs the inn with the help of an assistant, and is involve in all aspects of the operation. He is was very friendly and attentive to our needs. He suggested a side trip to the Mt. Washington Auto Road, which we completed. What a terrifying experience that was, but it made for a great memory and a good story. Our room was as if we were staying with relatives that really liked us and were good decorators. The bed was very comfortable and had a nice comforter on top so we were quite warm and cozy. Rob made us a wonderful hot breakfast in the morning. All in all, we were very pleased with our stay there.

Darling B&B

Posted Oct 17, 2013
Location: You can walk to 2 restaurants, but most shops were further into town.
We loved the Red Elephant! We chose the "Las Vegas" room, which is a nice corner room upstairs. Loved the fireplace and arched ceiling with window that pops open if you like fresh air at night. The breakfasts were amazing! Wine served at happy hour and we met 2 other couple who were just as charming. Great experience.

Friendly and relaxed

Posted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: Rob and Diane had laid on complimentary wine encouraging guests to mingle on the deck watching the sun set. We had a great time.
Location: Good base for discovering the White Mountains.
From the moment we arrived Rob made us feel at home. He couldn't have been more welcoming.

Very nice B&B in White Mountains.

Posted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: Location. Friendliness. Food. Price.
Cons: Small issue with water draining in the shower.
Location: Great location for seeing everything in the White Mountains. Gorgeous in the fall!
Very nice experience at the Red Elephant. The B&B was in an excellent location for our trip to see the fall foliage. We could easily go to MT Washington, drive the Kanc and explore all around the White Mountains. Rob (landlord) did a fantastic job with breakfast (the pumpkin pancakes were killer!). Great views from the porch and shops and eateries were walking distances away. We would definitely stay here again.
