Nice Bed & Breakfast close to all attractionsPosted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast
The bed and pillows were a little soft, but otherwise a great three day R&R experience.

Private house style just off main roadPosted Jun 10, 2014
Pros: The personal attention and the feeling we were house guests rather than paying visitors.
Location: Many walking trails, a vintage train ride and spectacular views from the tops of the mountains. A wide selection of restaurants to suite most tastes
If you are looking for a typical motel this B &B is not for you. However if you want to be welcomed into somebody's house, then it is. Owner Rob assisted by Brodie the dog is friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area. Breakfasts are unusual with really original dishes with Rob taking a real pride in what he has produced. Only slight downside was a bit of difficulty with door lock and the bathroom door which kept sticking. Once mastered, they did not present a problem. We would be very happy to stay there again.

Home away from home in the White MountainsPosted Jan 6, 2014
Amazing experience with fantastic breakfast and cozy atmosphere. Our host was accommodating and very interesting providing helpful advise when asked and offering stories and tips on the area. The building is wonderfully decorated with a room for drinking wine (provided by owner) and an assortment of hot drinks (also free of charge) next to a gas fireplace. The inn is small enough for an intimate romantic feel yet hosts multiple couples or travellers for breakfast conversations. I will be recommending this inn to anyone who travels in the state of New Hampshire and a must stay.

5 star accommodations at 3star pricePosted Dec 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Room was very clean quiet and cozy. Hotel was close to every thing but nestled in a way that you feel totally at peace. Highly recommend and will be booking for a stay in January.

Nice B&B close to shopping but away from it allPosted Nov 18, 2013
Cons: The owner has a great dog, but my husband has bad allergies so we wish we knew beforehand.

Great Bed & Breakfast in the White Mountain Area !Posted Oct 20, 2013
Pros: Great Location right downtown but far enough off the main drag that there were no traffic noises. Very home-like feeling. Attentive staff.
Cons: Our bathroom was about the smallest full bathroom on the planet. But it was clean and well appointed.
Location: Convenient to everything in the area. About 18 miles south of the Mt Washington Auto Rd. 10 Blocks from the historic railroad park.
My wife and I stayed at the Red Elephant Inn on our recent 35th Anniversary trip that we planned to take in the fall foliage of the area. I am now a big believer in Bed and Breakfasts in part as a result of the wonderful treatment that we experienced at the Red Elephant. Rob, the owner, runs the inn with the help of an assistant, and is involve in all aspects of the operation. He is was very friendly and attentive to our needs. He suggested a side trip to the Mt. Washington Auto Road, which we completed. What a terrifying experience that was, but it made for a great memory and a good story. Our room was as if we were staying with relatives that really liked us and were good decorators. The bed was very comfortable and had a nice comforter on top so we were quite warm and cozy. Rob made us a wonderful hot breakfast in the morning. All in all, we were very pleased with our stay there.

Great atmosphere and very good value. Nice spacious room, although the bathroom was a bit of a squeeze.

Darling B&BPosted Oct 17, 2013
Location: You can walk to 2 restaurants, but most shops were further into town.
We loved the Red Elephant! We chose the "Las Vegas" room, which is a nice corner room upstairs. Loved the fireplace and arched ceiling with window that pops open if you like fresh air at night. The breakfasts were amazing! Wine served at happy hour and we met 2 other couple who were just as charming. Great experience.

fantastic breakfastPosted Oct 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
A very helpful and friendly inn keeper who was also a great cook. An excellent 3 course cooked breakfast with a choice of main course. We booked 3 nights and each day the breakfast was different. Good location just off the main road so easy to find. The only main negative was that the bath was not too clean ..hair left around the plug hole and limited toiletries provided. The decor was quite dark which made the room appear gloomy. The owners dog appeared to have free run the house except the bedrooms which did not concern us as we are dog lovers.

Friendly and relaxedPosted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: Rob and Diane had laid on complimentary wine encouraging guests to mingle on the deck watching the sun set. We had a great time.
Location: Good base for discovering the White Mountains.
From the moment we arrived Rob made us feel at home. He couldn't have been more welcoming.
