“The best inn in the area.”

This is an old but well maintained inn with a small but highly knowledgeable and professional staff. The rooms vary from “cozy” which we occupied to multi-room suites where friends of ours stayed. There are many activities available either on the inn’s grounds or close enough to walk to. These included pool and river swimming, horseback riding, tennis, hiking and even glider planes. It is close to attractions for all ages such as Lose River, Polar Caves and every level of hiking. There is an excellent restaurant in the inn and a huge variety of close by dinning opportunities for every taste. We stayed for a long weekend and will definitely return.

“Country living getaway”

We absolutely adored our experience at the Franconia Inn. We met the nicest, friendliest people. The breakfasts are delicious with some wonderful, fresh choices, served in a totally charming dining room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is great. Don't expect a 5 star resort. This is a homey Lodge-type getaway, with access to all the sights of the white mountains. There is a bit of a long drive to the other side to get to Mt. Washington.

“Different, but wonderful.”

The room is barely ok but the overall experience was superb. Best breakfast plan I've ever seen, complementing a wonderful gourmet dinner, and the option of light fare at the bar. Beautiful setting...but what sets it apart are the public spaces: a library, a game room, a tv room (no tv in rooms), a heated pool, hikes on site, and extraordinary service.
