Nicest Place in the Area

Posted Jul 20, 2011 on Hotels.com
This is a full-service, high-class spot. Classic New England. You definitely pay for it though. The food was only okay considering the pricing, but there aren't many other options in the area.

never again

Posted Mar 29, 2011
the room smelled as soon as we walked in the heat was on 80+ it was dusty and underneath the bed we found some let's just say not family friendly. Spouse has severe allergic reaction to the dust. We had to leave each day the entire day. I mentioned this to the manager and she said they did have complaints about the rooms being untidy. it was dirty and itchy and plain disgusting and I will not stay there again nor recommend this place to anyone. The pool area was not bad although the tunnel you have to go through at night didnt light up until you were half way down the stairs. amazing the renovation pictures were gorgeous online.. what a disapointment I promised in front of my family I will not torture them again by staying here.

Poor Housekeeping Mars an Otherwise Good Hotel

Posted Aug 4, 2010
The Inn of Lincoln is in the process of being refurbished after its purchase by Massachusetts innkeepers. The former "Beacon North" property had gotten pretty tired, and new paint and furnishings are helping revitalize it. Alas, the housekeeping staff may yet undo the good work that is going into the property itself. During our four-day stay, we had no housekeeping service at all one day, and poor service two of the other three days. One day our bed was rather lumpily remade and, despite our having placed our towels on the floor seeking new ones, an old towel (still damp and with a toothpaste spot on it) was rehung. On none of the days we were there was our carpet vacuumed. Outside, we saw similar signs of under-staffing. An outside trash can, overflowing with smelly garbage, was left un-emptied for three of the four days we were there. Beer bottles in the pool area (which shouldn't have been there in the first place) were never removed. The outdoor pool had not been vacuumed or skimmed. The inside pool was much cleaner. I really would like to wish the new owners well -- I think they are sincerely trying. But if they do not hire more (or better trained) staff, they will soon lose business. In fact, perhaps they already have -- we were there in mid-July and the occupancy rate was less than half when properties all around us had "no vacancy" signs out.
