Old Mountain smelly room

Posted Jul 26, 2015
The arrival and check in staff were nice helpful and service was fast, however upon arrival to the building with the room appeared run down, which was confirmed when we entered the room a storm mildew smell in general, my wife thought the room had been closed up and needed fresh air, after venting the room for an hour the smell remained, we decided to stay the night as we were just to tired to go on. The staff was friendly at check out, I just decided to say nothing!

Beautiful scenery and nearby to things to do......

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: We were only there for the day. We went to the Flume Gorge which was nice. We had a very good lunch at the restaurant across the street.
The room walls and ceiling were in need of repair. The carpet looked like it needed to be vacuumed. Bathroom floor was dirty. The room was nice and quiet and did have a nice table to sit at with comfy chairs. The internet was very weak and the signal was very slow. For a one night stay it was fine. We enjoyed the hot tub and the pool. The scenery around was very nice. The lawn was kept up well and we enjoyed watching the ducks in the little pond. Tennis & shuffleboard was available too. The staff was very nice and helpful along with the kitchen staff and waitpersons.

Great location to many places for families to go.

Posted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: Clean rooms and many things for families to do there!
Cons: Rug in indoor pool!
Location: Clark's Bears a must! Ride on Kangamanus Highway and stop @ the lower falls! Ride to see Mt. Washington Hotel and Cog Railway! Go to North Conway!
Hotel was great place to stay for relaxing or to take your family! Hotel staff very friendly and professional. Food was very good @ restaurants on the premises! Rooms were a little small, but had everything we needed! Rooms were very clean! Would definitively go next year!

Pretty bad.

Posted Jul 7, 2015
We stayed at the Inn portion of the hotel, which is enclosed in a glass hothouse like structure and feels like it. The whole pool area is lined with soaking carpet, which I found weird and disgusting. Room was clean but very basic. Bathroom needed updating. Mattress extremely uncomfortable. Would not stay again!

Beautiful Resort

Posted Jul 7, 2015
Great location and beautiful ammendities. My only complain is SOME of the staff. The people at the front desk and waitstaff were wonderful! Most of the house keepers and the young groundskeeper gentlemen NEVER had a smile on their face. Even when we said hi they just scowled and mumbled a response. We were in a room above their supply room which made for many uncomfortable moments. Overall I'd visit again but wouldn't waste my time on trying to exchange pleasantries with staff.

Great place to stop & rest for the night

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: The location as well as how simple it was to get in, sleep, and check out.
Cons: The lighting could be a bit better in the parking lots but that does add to the feeling of being in the mountains.
Location: This hotel is super close to Franconia Notch State Park and Cannon Mountain and the aerial tramway.
This hotel is simple, clean, and laid out in a nice way within the trees to make it feel less like a hotel and more like a ski lodge. Awesome place to rest on the way to Mt. Washington or northern Vermont. Rooms were clean, staff was awesome and left keys for our late arrival as well as gave us tons of helpful tips the next morning. It was too cold to use the pool but they have an outdoor as well as an indoor. This hotel is super close to Franconia Notch State Park and Cannon Mountain and the aerial tramway.

Clean bed, dirty bathroom

Posted May 25, 2015
Cons: Bathroom and rug.
Our bathroom shower was backed up and dirty. We arrived at 8 p.m. and were out by 6 a.m. We noticed the shower problem first thing in the morning. It was not draining and looked as though it had not been cleaned.
